I found my Dress"Running Of the Brides NYC09"(pics)

Ladies I am back from NYC!! Yesterday was crazy if I had seen crazy before. I left CT Thursday evening and went to Brooklyn to meet my sister and her son and a cousin. I took a nap since I worked all day and was tired from the 2 ½ hr drive. We had planned to get there at 3am but with all the hype of it we decided to get there at 1am, hoping I would get my home work for class done with my sis laptop (still not done..ops). After my nap about 11.50pm, I got up and got ready for the road my nephew decided he would be bored so he got his friend to take the ride, I also picked up my cousin who was visiting from FL.

We got there at 1.20am and there was a cop van in front of the building with 10pl in line, with blankets, lawn chairs etc. I got my chairs out and send my nephew in line with his friend. I got pizza and drinks for the team then went around the cornor to park and do my work. Since my sister did not bother to buy word07 for her laptop after the trial period, I could not get any work done so we tried to connect to the internet, not getting any good connection it was very slow.

After 2 hrs we went in line and my nephew went in the car. The nice security opened the glass door and had them sit just between the 2 glass doors of the entrance. When we got up to the door a girl in her head piece stared to fuss that we can’t cut the line and was asking who we had inside the glass door. I gave her some attitude and trade places with the boys. It was not cold outside, but it was nicer between the glass doors. At about 5am the media stared to drive up about 10 trucks, they all came at once. The girl who came first at 11.45pm kept calling the media to her attention “I came first” yes she got most of the media but others got some too.

At 7 am the manager started to line us up to go to the 3rd fl, again for more media the good morning show etc. The plan was to run to the left and meet under the blue shirt on the back wall that I pointed out through the glass window.

1 2 3 run! and we were off I ran to the far right and grab a hand full of dresses, they were HEAVY so it took 3 tries to get them all off the rack. I ran over to the side and put it down and went back one more time. My cousin was running over with hers and fell (hehe). I told her to stand guard and went a second time, in all we all went 2 times except her. Before we went over to the blue shirts on the back wall of the store, I started to take out colors I did not want. I had just thrown out a dress with red trimming when a girl came up to ask if we had any with red trimming, we showed it to her ( I hope it fit). The guys took the dresses over to the back wall. In my ½ bra and tights, I started to trying on. People kept coming up to us to trade but we had too many to trade we just told them to look at the ones I did not like. It came down to 6 we loved then down to 4 then to 2. Each dress we all voted so it came down to 2, I tried them both on 2 more times for the final vote. My team plus others were saying they loved the one I picked so we bagged it and took it to the cashier. It fitted perfect so no alteration needed just a good push up bra. Priced at $8999.00 to a whopping $499. Did I say I loved it and that price was censored.gifgood. We all had fun even my nephew and his friends. Yes there was a fight for dress inside it was also on TV. A guy was slapped in the face in the morning in-line when I went outside to get coffee. It was FUN and CRAZY. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I live in Ontario, Canada and I heard about this madness on the radio!!! Hahaha, glad you found 'the one'! It's great on you! I also love the first one in all the pictures ....do you know what designer/style # it might be? Kind of a long shot as I am sure you just grabbed it off a rack...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
