Traveling with a large family (5 kids) Yikes!

Recommended Posts

Well ... we've always known that it's kind of a pain traveling with 5 kids but now we're really in for it! LOL

Ken and I have 5 kids (my 3 and his 2) and there are NO rooms (that we've found) that will accommodate all 7 of us (cuts off at 6) ... even for the very expensive villas with 2,600 sqft.

We have other family coming so as long as they stay the exact same days as us we can put them on their room ... but either way financially it's crazy.

You can't book kids only in a room (even if it's adjoining) so you have to split up the adults thus paying a single per per rate. As it is we can't even split us up and take 2 and 3 kids respectfully because you can only put 2 kids with 1 adult *sigh*

I know we'll get it worked out ... but it's another thing to "stress" about. LOL

Has anyone else traveled with kids to an all inclusive? Have you used their Kids Club? Have you ever hired a babysitter for night time?

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! *SmiLes* Suzanne

Wow....I thought we were the only one's taking our kids! lol I have 2 and my FI has 2 as well. Luckily, we have both of our families going so it's not too much of a big deal for us. FI and I are staying 9 days, so the kids can't even travel with us. My MOH is taking my 2 kids when she goes, we had to book them in their room, however, they will stay with my parents once they arrive. FI's 2 kids are going and staying with his parents in their room. It's kinda a hassle shuffling the kids around, but it actually worked out pretty good for the one's travelling with them since they got more of a discount having 4 people in a room!

I hope that helps!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
