Iberostar Grand Rose Hall

Recommended Posts

Hello! I'm new to the site, just jointed today. Planning a wedding for 2013. Doing it on my own so far but will be going with an agent for the room and coctail hour perks. Love this resort...a little nervous about how the prices can add up though. And was told by Janielle that once your package is booked there are no changes allowed...that also made me a little nervous. I've been on Trip Advisor and this site for the last two weeks trying to soak up any tips and information I can.

I tried to click on the links for your photos but I'm getting a "timed out" message. Has the link expired or did you repost them anywhere?

Okay ladies, I need a little feedback. I am having a renewal of vows ceremony in 2013 with, so far, 20 guest invited. I do plan on sending out "save the date" flyers with RSVPs attached. Through all of the threads and post I've read on multiple websites, a lot of brides wern't expecting the amount of responses they got from wedding invites and this can be a nightmare since you aren't allowed to change your package once it's finalized. I won't send Janielle my final plans until I receive all of those back. Anyway, has anyone had a semi/private reception at any of the restaurants yet? Just wanted to know about the experience if I don't add to my guest list. I'm trying to soak up any info I can before I make my final decisions...but honestly if I read another string of post or threads this week my eyes are gonna pop outta my head! LOL!

Oh yeah, I read a few things about Iberostar not giving anything free. I did read on another thread, I think it was tripadvisory...but don't quote me on that, that you can get group rates depending on how many rooms you book through your travel agent. I also read that the good free stuff, such as free cocktail hour and additional spa and makeup credit, is only given out to the people that are paying for 50 or more guest! LOL!

Hi Ladies!

Just wanted to let you know the issues I am having with the Grand right now. Apparently they have added into their contract (out of the blue) that you must have 60% of your guest stay at the Grand in order to have a wedding there. WIth this being said we may not be able to do our wedding here now because I do not think 60% of my guests will be staying there. Please let me know if any of you are having this issue! Thanks

For anyone that has already visited the Grand, can you make any recommendations for the best restaurants? Also, I have read that you have the ability to make reservations shortly before your trip via email, has anyone done this?

Do any of the other nearby Iberostar properties (suites and beach) require dinner reservations for a la carte restaurants?

Thanks! We leave for our HM in 6 days! pinkie.gif

The Wolferts,

The Surf and Turf was our favorite while we were there.  And you can make reservations prior to your trip.  You can also request reservations at the Beach or Suites as well although I didn't get a chance to dine at any of their restaurants when we went on our site visit.  Enjoy your honeymoon and congrats!

Dani

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
