great thanks!  in that case, i'm leaning towards the non-jamaican buffet.  You can send me your email address through PM and i'll forward them to you.  You won't be able to download them from this site (unless you have lots of posts, but i still can't download files with 100+ posts).

PS do you mind posting the menu options on here? I'm curious even though i have 13 months to go!

kfarkas26, did you get to try any of the sushi while you were there?  They have it listed on one of the buffet menus and I know it's available at the Grand at the Japanese restaurant and through room service.  I'm not sure if they have it at the Suites, but the Japanese restaurant at the Beach resort must have sushi as well.  Just curious if it's actually good or really crappy!

The hotel confirmed that no lobster will be served.  It will substituted with shrimp until the end of June.  I wish I had known that before I chose a June wedding date!

Thanks.

since you've actually been there, one last question about the food!  how was the italian, asian, etc. in comparison to the jamaican cuisine.  i love jamaican food, and i'm sure the hotel's jamaican food is great.  but i want to know if they produce other cuisines just as well.  was their take on italian or asian food any good?

thanks!

They have pasta station every night which was good, they also have a lot of rice dishes and paella and stuff like that which we enjoyed. We did not go to the japanese restaurant and the beach, we've been to a few all inclusive resorts that have hibachi places and we never enjoy them so we skipped it this trip. The food is not food like you would get at a "real" italian restaurant in NYC or something like that or a ruths chris quality steak from the steak house but we've been to about 6 or so all inclusive resorts plus a bunch of cruises and we agreed that this was the by far the BEST food we've eaten (also the first resort where neither of us got sick) I wouldn't worry too much about the food its going to be good- and I'm sure the grand's food is even more exceptional than the suites!

My husband and I are headed to the Grand this June 19-24 for our honeymoon and since you guys have probably done a lot of research on the property, I had a couple of questions:

- I heard that the grand and the suites have beach parties at night? Has anyone else heard this?

- I also heard that the restaurants at the Grand take reservations and that it is a good idea to call before you head down there to make the reservations. Has anyone come across this?

- Our TA told us that because we are staying at the Grand, we have access to the suites pools and restaurants too. Is this correct?

Thanks and happy planning!

Congrats on being a MRS, hope your wedding went well! You will love the Grand, it is nothing short of GRAND!! The Grand does not have a night beach party, only a day lunch Jamaican thing, which is a think thursdays. The Suites has a beach party on Saturdays. It is highly recommended you make reservations for the dinners. We had no problem the last time we were there. The first day you arrive, your butler will meet with you and review all this, no need to call in advance. Yes you have access to everything being a Grand guest, so ENJOY!!

I'm very close to making the grand my resort of choice for my destination wedding, but I don't want a beach ceremony! Does anyone know of any other ceremony locations? They only show the beach as an option. If that's the only one that sucks!

There are three different options: terrace, beach, and an indoor atrium area. I am not positive if they will let you use the stairway or not but worth asking the WC.

This link should show you all the options at the Grand - it's not officially from Iberostar but it's the same thing the WC sent me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
