Iberostar Grand Rose Hall

Recommended Posts

Hi Allie,

Just to clarify the Grand prices: it's a set price to rent out the restaurant with a buffet (varies based on the number of people) OR $70 pp for an a la carte dinner (no $4500 fee on top)...so the prices are comparable on a per person basis.  It is stil la lot more money than the Suites.  Good luck with your planning.

Just seemed like more money but not really sure what extra we'd be getting.  Besides, we plan to do a lot of extras - I am having chairs brought in, different flowers, etc. etc.

I don't really know anything about the beach so I can't be helpful there.

Thank you, thank you for clarifying.  That's why this forum is so nice - because I read the brochures/information as one thing and since no one at the hotel responds to me I am able to get my answers.

The Grand is beautiful and we plan to stay there for the wedding even though our actual wedding will be at the Suites.  We just ended up with an invite list with too many kids and we wanted to be able to enjoy activities throughout the week with all our guests - not just the kid-free ones.

Is anyone doing their wedding reception in front of the Port Maria? I love the set up that this bride recently did. You can see the set up by going to their photographers website (just scroll down and you will see the dinner set up). http://www.lauranovak.net/index.cfm?catID=5

Tai Flora hasn't responded to me with pricing on doing this set up and I'm curious to find out what the cost is.

I was originally booked at the Iberostar Grand for my wedding March 13th, 2013. I have now cancelled for several reasons: Every time I asked a question about booking, I would receive an extremely vague answer, WEEKS later. The information I received from the resort, each sheet contradicted itself in terms of pricing and you really don't get much for $3000 besides the ceremony. I have since then switched to Secrets St James/Wild Orchid and have received more than the info I asked for within hours. You also get a private dinner/reception for $800 less than the wedding package from the Iberostar! The Iberostar looks beautiful but we wouldn't be able to afford the full wedding we want! I bet those of you that can will have an absolutely beautiful wedding!!!! Good luck to everyone, I hope you have a less difficult time than I did figuring everything out!!!

Kristen,

You will enjoy Secrets St James!  My fiance and I stayed there when they first opened and saw a few small weddings (just the couple and maybe a couple of guests).  We would have considered it for our wedding as well, but we wanted an adults-only place that would allow kids at the ceremony/reception.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
