Hi ladies!

Bklynbridetobe - it's great to hear you are thinking of Anguilla! Anguilla has a huge selection of villas, and I found them to be a really cost-effective option. Like Janis, I just did a search on the internet, and narrowed it down based on the number of bedrooms we needed and price. Good luck with the decision-making. Its certainly not easy!

Janis - we are still at the fairly early stages of planning. We have booked our villa (also a 6-7 bedroom one - I wonder if its the same one!), Susan for photography, and have ordered my dress and my FI's outfit. We still need to sort out food, music, flowers and decorations. It would be really good to hear about what you are doing for food - I'm really stuck on this one!

Good luck with the planning everyone!

Hey Cabs!

Wow- you did a lot already - that is great!  My fiance has yet to buy an outfit :0/  and he only has 2 months left!  lol  but just like a guy to leave it unitl last minute... hehe.

For food - The staff at the villa is able to cook and provide our breakfasts as long as i give them a list of things to buy ahead of time, for lunch and dinner, we opted to get a chef at the villa.  So the cost for 2 meals a day is 600/day + the cost of the foods and for dinners likely they will have a helper there as well that we will have to pay by the hour.  But the chef provided sample menues to me and i just sent them back my different dinner ideas.  For lunch i'm leaving it up to him because for the most part we will be out and about, but i just wanted someone there in case some of us stay in and want some lunch made.  Also the chef takes care of making us some mixed cocktails etc.  I also opted to have the same chef cook our wedding dinner also instead of having it catered.   We are only there for 5 days, so I have the chef booked for 4 days since one day ,we will probably have dinner out.

Hope this helps - the foold planning for the villa is a bit of a pain because not everyone likes or can eat the same types of food.  I'll keep you posted if i come across anything else that might be helpful to you.

Happy planning!

Janis - great to hear from you! Yes, I hear you about men tending to leave things to the last minute. It was actually really lucky we ordered my FI a shirt so early as it arrived and it was absolutely huge on him. We've had to re-order it so at the moment he still has nothing to wear! I haven't really done much more planning actually. I originally contacted my wedding planner about 14 months before the wedding and wanted to get as much done as early as possible. I've come to realise now that everyone is on 'Anguilla time', no-one seems to be in any rush, and I'm just assuming my planner is on top of things. So I'm feeling very laid back about the w'hole thing at the moment which is nice - I just hope this feeling lasts. Still, we're gradually getting there. We still haven't sorted out food but I've been promised some menus from private chefs so I think we'll just wait for those to arrive and then choose one of them. Anyway, what stage are you up to? Am I correct in thinking you are getting married in December? If so that's not long at all - how exciting!

Ilulko - welcome to the Anguilla thread! Unfortunately I haven't been to Anguilla before so I'm not sure how much help I'll be. CuisinArt does look amazing though - perhaps a good starting point would be to contact the wedding planners there as I am sure they'll be able to help organise things and suggest vendors for you. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
