HELP! Trying to Elope in Punta Cana ...

Recommended Posts

My fiance and I want to elope - really elope just the 2 of us - in Punta Cana this summer. My problem is finding a wedding package at any resort that has what we need without paying for a bunch of extra stuff we don't.

Here's all that we want:

  • Beach location
  • Officiant
  • Marriage license & certificate
  • Witnesses (since we won't have anyone with us)
  • Bridal bouquet
  • Boutonniere
  • Photographs on CD

Does anyone know of a resort or wedding planning service that offers something like that at a reasonable price?

Any help would be very much appreciated!!

I just got done setting my date with a resort in Punta Cana for April of next year! We are going with Paradisus Punta Cana. I really like the romance "specialists" they have to help you get everything figured out. We are doing a beach wedding as well, but are going to have around 20 guests. From what I have read though, they can do a very private, intimate ceremony for you as well. Google it and see what you think! Best wishes!!

Dreams is where we are going, because of cost, and the basic package is free for 7nights or more if you book the honeymoon suite or higher. Just remember you need to be in DR for so long prior to the wedding and they need your translated paper work ahead of time also.

i would definitely say dreams too... of course that IS where i'm getting married, so i think shannon was right!

if it is just you guys and you don't need to worry about guests with a rehearsal dinner or reception or anything like that, the biggest thing you'll have to worry about is probably just the paperwork translation and all of that legal mumbo jumbo. besides that, i really don't think you can go wrong in PC! good luck and keep us posted on your planning!!

ps: eden&kevin... we're getting married just 5 days after you in PC! not the same resort, but still the closest date i've seen to ours so far! april 2010 can't come soon enough!!

Hi eloping 789,

My fiancee and I are in a similar situation, we want to run off and get married just the two of us to Punta Cana, possibly next May 2010. Can I ask how you got in touch with Melia Caribe, as I have tried and I haven't yet received a response?

All the other packages I have seen include more stuff than we need, so we are trying to see if there are any resort wedding packages that cater to "elopements" or just for the bride and groom? We both really love Paradisus Palma Real!

First, let me say Congratulations!! Of all the resorts I contacted Melia responded the quickest and they are extremely helpful. My WC is Laura Kreutz. I think she has Mondays and Tuesdays off, but here is her direct email address and phone number as well as another WC who contacted me several times before I was assigned to Laura:

Laura Kreutz: asistente.bodas.melia.caribe@meliacaribetropical.c om,

Angelica Albuerme, angelicaa@meliacaribetropical.com

If you are interested in package details, I posted the entire Wedding Package pamphlet in this thread that provides all of the pricing, options, etc. for 2009: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t36563. If you don't have enough points to download it, send me a PM with your email address and I'll send it to you. They may change it for 2010, but it'll give you a ballpark.

Good Luck and let me know if I can help with anything else!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
