What day of the week are you getting married in Mexico?

The heavy and/or luxurious materials, and formal, layered attire that are certainly appropriate for North American weddings are simply not practical for weddings in Mexico in August, during other times in the year perhaps, but not August. The good news about August weddings in Mexico: it is one of the best months for long, beautiful sunsets; the overall expense of your wedding will be less than in other times of the year and you can negotiate a better price with ALL vendors (hotel, flowers, wedding coordinator, food, everything!); and '000's of sea turtles come to lay their eggs on the beaches. Joining a group to search for turtle eggs and to help release baby turtles into the ocean can make for a unique and memorable activity. I hope you find my advice helpful. Thanks for the great advice! All my guests are coming from Texas, so they are used to the heat, but it's good to know what to pack. We will have the ceremony in a church, with the reception in the evening on the beach or under a palapa.

I'm worried about the rain in August in Puerto Vallarta, but I hear that it's just a mid-afternoon rain, much like Florida and Hawaii. Hopefully it won't linger all day, but just be enough to cool off the heat a little? I've heard mixed feedback... I just want my guests to have some sunny days at the beach for activities like snorkeling and a turtle release. I am excited to hear about the turtles and long sunsets!

Does your actual wedding day count as a day? Such a pain in the ass that you have to be there 4 BUSINESS days before for a legal (although other posts say 3?). I wanted to fly down WITH some of my guests but also want to have the wedding fairly soon after being there so we can all just relax and not all be leaving right after the wedding.

I like the idea of everyone arriving on a Saturday, having the wedding on Wednesday (that's IF you have to be there 3 business days before and the wedding day is included), and heading home again on the Saturday. That way people feel free to do whatever the want for a few days of their vacay. There must be an actual thread on Mexican rules for legal ceremonies. I had read somewhere that even the blood tests have been kaboshed but don't know for sure. I sense a thread search coming on!

We booked ours on a Thursday just in case the wedding day does not count as a business day. I think it is three entire days, so safer to say you can get married on the fourth business day legally.

I'm getting married on a Monday simply because there were no Saturdays or Fridays left in November at Dreams Cancun... But now I'm really happy that it's on a Monday since our guests are arriving Friday and Saturday and enjoying a couple days before the ceremony.

This year it has rained far less than last year and it generally started falling in the mid to late evening. In the heat and humidity of August, rain is a blessing!!

 

It might be useful to create a Plan B (rainy day plan), just in case.... Interestingly enough, none of the wedding ceremonies I have photographed have been rained out.... though that could make for some wild photos!

Our wedding will be on a Friday. We didn't really think about what day of the week it was when we picked out our date, just made sure it wasn't a Sunday.

We are getting married on Sunday, only bc we wanted 10.10.10 to be our date, if that date landed on a Tues we would have gotten married on that day. But this works out bc most of our guests are arriving on Friday and staying until the following Friday so they have a few days to be on their own, Fri, sat, sun, and Monday AM we have events planned for them. (option of course)

We are getting married on a Monday. We will be arriving in Jamaica on a Saturday, they make you wait 2 days.

 

Wanting to get married sooner than later on the island, so we could enjoy the remainer of time as a couple!!!!
