Thankfully, I'm still employed. I'm pretty sure I won't be in danger any time soon, because I'm an MVP of my organization. Although, they've been slowly offshoring our work to Slovakia, so I wouldn't be surprised if they got rid of our jobs altogether in the next few years. Plus, if they do cut me, it releases me of my obligation to the company for my MBA. I either have to stay with them for two years after I graduate in May or I have to pay them back for the degree. If I leave the company, I can definitely make more somewhere else, but I'd owe them lots of money in return.
I hope that everything turns out ok for you.
I am glad that things are working out for you and if anything, you will at least have a great and free education to fall back on. Good luck with everything!

shannon, i was laid off about two months ago and it's been stressful BUT not unbearable. i'm in NJ also and the unemployment benefits actually aren't that bad. i'd honestly say that the worst part of it all is emotional and feeling expendable, it's a crummy feeling. but anyway, if it happens and you have any questions about NJ unemployment, let me know. i'm a friggin expert. :)

  • 2 weeks later...

It's terrible the amount of lay offs that have been going on. My fiancee's business is suffering due to client lay offs. I work in business banking and they are planning on taking away our incentive pay for sales. (That's the majority of my pay check!) It's stressful. I wish you girls the bet of luck to pull through these tough times!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
