I am so happy to find this thread. I have been struggling with ideas for the Welcome bag. My trouble is that it is a small wedding and most items are coming in stacks of 30 or 50! ha! I did find some cute tropical flower hair clips that change color in the sun from Del Sol. I love the idea of Spanish for Dummies book, and the aloe vera gel, pepto etc.

Does anyone know if you can find reasonably priced biodegradeable sunscreen in the US to give to the guests? We are doing a Tulum excursion, and this might be nice to provide to everyone before hand.

Hi Ladies... I wanted to share some info with everyone.

My sisters had a wonderful surprise bridal fiesta for me and they gave out these beautiful maracas (one per guest) as the favor. I think I am going to order some smaller ones as favors for my wedding since they looked so nice...and....they say "Mexico" on them.

I called the vendor and there is no way to get specific colors but for the price you can't beat it: $1.95 per pair if you order over 12 pairs.

Here is the link -

Amols' Specialty - Catalog - Traditional Maracas

I can't figure out how to post the pic but if you're interested let me know I can email you the pic of the ones from my shower. You'll be able to see all the colors. My sisters tied little tags on them that said" "Shake it High, Shake it low...Kirk and Kim are getting married in Mexico"!

PS: The site also has cute little sombreros to place on sauce bottles- the 2.5 inch ones are super cheap. I am using them to put on mini tequila bottles.

Hope this info helps!

xoxo

Paige2010 I am getting the glow in the dark mugs from here: 14oz Nite Glow Beer Stein Mugs | Custom Printed Plastic Stadium Cups with Logo (if we have extras we're going to keep them for the reception at home)

and the beach totes from here: Business Tote Bags , Imprinted Tote Bags - TOT05

I thought they were reasonably priced

We are doing OOT bags that will be personalized with each guest's name and our monogram embroidery (it will cost me $15 per bag but we only need 12... so after thinking for ever I decided it was worth it). I'm putting beach towels, koozies, chap-stick, playing cards, tylenol, 5-hour energy drink, a couple of protein bars, first-aid kit, bottled water, a couple of gossip magazines/newsweek type of reading and a welcome brochure. For favors - women will get pashminas and guys - cigars. I hope my guests will like it...

I am doing pashminas for all the ladies (thought it would be nice in case it gets shilly on the beach at night) and cigars for the guys. I bought personalized tags with our wedding date and a starfish on them that I am going to hang from ribbon and tie around the pashminas. I hope it looks cute!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
