We did a few things: Flip Flops with Favorite sports team for the guys, Old Navy flip flops for the girls, Starfish wine charms for everyone and plantable gift tags for the bags. We also bought all the men the same shirt to wear to the wedding Jamaica Jaxx shirt.

We are sending out luggage tags before the trip amd doing OOT bags for guests when they arrive. At the reception, we will have pashminas for the women and a cigar roller to make cigars for the men. The cigar roller is so expensive I wanted to scrape it but FI was so excited when I told him about it and keeps talking about it so I think the expense will be worth it.

i think it would cute if you removed the band at the neck of the bottles and in it's place print out labels with your guest names. it'll look more personalized!

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of the ideas. I like the idea of sourcing locally (means I haven't got to lug everyone's gifts from the UK and gives back to the community).

I am going to put information together with our invitations about the area and any excursions that are available so our guests know how much extra they need to save in order to do any of them!?

We haven't decided on a hotel etc yet as we are not getting married until next year, but I am starting to put all of the ideas together so we can get a final cost.

The Welcome Bag is a great idea, I love the sunscreen and aloe idea and the sunglasses are great. You can guarantee that someone will forget them!!

Thank you again ladies, all of these ideas are amazing.

Kim

I'm just wondering if you had any issues with payment and shipping for your pashmina's? I'm really interested in ordering them... would you recommend them?

Pewter is very popular in New Brunswick. Most of our guests come from across the country so we're planning on having a Christmas decoration (our wedding is close enough to Christmas) in the shape of a starfish made in Pewter with a ribbon in our colours. They will be engraved in the back with our wedding date & location.

It will serve as a little reminder of both Jamaica and (with the Pewter) New Brunswick. We can get them for $6/each and with only 10-15 people, it's a reasonable price.

I wanted something that was different...

I purchased a personalized hanger for each confirmed guest from Aressa on Etsy: Etsy :: Wire Hangers

I have pictures of the actual hangers if anyone is interested! PM me...

We had a yellow ribbon since that was our color, and on the back, in yellow, we had written our date (May 24, 2010) and Dominican Republic. I figured it would be something practical and unique, AND easy to travel with! The seller was awesome!!! SOOO QUICK! Even with such a large order! She was able to give me a discount as well, since I ordered so many.

I can't wait to give them to my guests!!!!! It's been hard keeping it a secret from my family!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
