Need to VENT my Cozumel wedding in less than 2 weeks!

I'm really annoyed/mad/pissed/upset right now so just bare with me please. We started planning our wedding in July 08. We picked out a venue in Cozumel and they scheduled our wedding. They told us Deposit was not due until 90 days before the wedding and full payment was due 2 weeks prior. We picked this location for the sole reason that we could rent out the entire Beach Club for our wedding ONLY! We even paid extra money so it would be private for our guests (44 people total). We got our contract and it states also that we are paying XX amount for the Private use of the Beach Club.

Well we made final payment last week. I get an email today telling me "by the way there's 4 other guests that have booked the club for that day as well". I was FLOORED! Needless to say I told her it was unacceptable. We paid extra money (extra $16/pp) on top of the "normal" entrance fee to have the club "Private". She told me out of respect for the other guests she couldn't cancel their reservation! What about "respect" for our CONTRACT that states it's Private and no other guests would be there. I know it's only 4 people, but it's the principal. We would've paid the normal price and not had it Private and saved over $700 if we knew this would've happened.

This entire process with this venue has been like pulling teeth from the start. We just really fell in love with the location and the "Private-ness" of it all and now this!

Now I'm waiting to hear back from her manager on what can be done. I have a sick feeling that he's going to say nothing. Our hands are tied since our wedding is less than 2 weeks away and we just made final payment. It just doesn't seem right that they are able to make us pay for a service that we are no longer getting!

Okay.....my vent has been long enough....I'll keep you all update...thanks for letting me get this out!

OMG that SUCKS! You def need to speak to the manager yourself and either get your extra 16/person back or something else awesome for free

Yea I'd be totally upset as well. I agree that you should ask for a refund out of respect for your contract, or they should kick the other guests out. That's total BS. I can't believe they did that!

They broke your contract they need to return the extra $700 you paid. If you don't get anywhere with the manager don't let it go keep going, go to the organisation itself and make sure you get that cash back.

Girl you need to raise hell and get your extra cash back!!! If you specifically paid them the extra $$$ to have a private affair closed to the public, but they are going to allow 4 others in the area, then they are violating the terms of your contract plain and simple. It doesn't matter how few public guests are allowed, that's a load of shit!!! censored.gif

 

Raise hell, and get that money back. Wow, I'm totally pissed for you ~ I hate when businesses think they can just bend terms in their favor thinking it's ok. Uggghhhh BangHead.gif
