DJ Doremixx vs. DJ. Mannia

Recommended Posts

Hi girls I was a dreams bride (and switched) but I booked doremixx before I did. The said I could use him...what I learned from dreams was that you just have to tell them what your doing and they'll do it, if you ask they'll say no, such a pain in the ass but the mexican resort way I'm learning.

So I finally heard back from Claudia.

I sent my TA a list of questions and she sent it over to her. After a couple weeks she finally responded.

The way I worded it was like this:

"I booked DJ Doremixx for the wedding, he won't be coming until about 6pm, will he still need a day pass"

She told me that he is not an approved DJ and they use Mannia

So I am a little more then Pissed because Mannia is twice as much as Doremixx and I can't afford him. Even if I rent the sound system for 3 hours, it's more expensive then Doremixx!!

My TA has a really good repore (sp?) with them, so she is going to work on it for me. It doesn't look promising though.

The discount that Mannia is offering does not apply to Dreams Cancun. They have their own pricing for him. I found this out when I contacted him a while ago and he gave me a very good price for my wedding. I told my WC at Dreams that I was hiring him and she said that his pricing was not valid to them. They wanted $948 versus the $650 he had given me. If they do allow Doremixx to become one of their vendors the prices he is offering will not be valid and we will still have to pay the Dreams rate, which I am sure will be much higher than his.

I saw how much of a profit they were going to make out of me and I opted for the sound system. I could not justify giving them almost $300 more after I have already reserved the ultimate package at $2650. What I dont understand is why is the vendor policy so different from Dreams Cancun and Dreams Tulum. They are owned by the same company. In Dreams Tulum you can hire who ever you want as your DJ. I think this whole thing sucks!!!!mad.gif

I totally feel your frustration!! I am trying to get them to just let me use him on the basis that i already booked him..before he becomes one of "their" vendors.

I just think it's dumb that , here is a DJ who is a great price and comes with lighting and props and what not....But because he's not approved by them, I have to pay even MORE for a sound system, supply my own music and hope that the technician plays the right stuff.

I think i may go back to the iPod docking station option....Even that would be cheaper then their sound system for 3 hours...how ridiculous is that!!

I am not sure which package you got but we ditched the Mexican trio for the sound system during the ceremony and reception. It is not costing me a thing!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
