Thank you so much for this thread. I just asked Meagan (*Tucks*) what things I could do instead of the sand and unity candles ceremonies. I am glad I came on here and searched. I like the hand ceremony and the rose. I have already written the hand ceremony into our script since FI really really likes it but not sure about the rose ceremony just yet or whether I should only do one or the other and not both. Thanks Christine for sharing all of this info!

I'm so happy pinkie.gif I can't wait to tell him. In our country we don't have such beautiful ceremonies - there are all the same, boring, with the same words

Our guests will be delighted! love.gif

I am doing a rose ceremony, but to honor the mother's. The officiant will hand my FI and I a rose during the ceremony and say a little something, then we are going to give the roses to our moms.

We are going to do something like this:

Officiant:

"We open this ceremony with a symbolic gift of beauty and gratitude to the women who gave the bride and groom life---their mothers."

(I then give the roses to the bride and groom who then present them to their mothers with a hug and kiss. Sometimes, as they embrace I have heard a bride or groom whisper in their mother's ear , "I love you, Mom.")

"Mothers, it is in your honor that I offer this quote from Homer's Hymns: It is she who nourished you; she, out of her treasures. Beautiful children; beautiful harvests; are achieved from you, the giving of life itself.”

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
