Dress is in - any suggestions?

Recommended Posts

I am so happy and relieved! My dress wasn't going to get her until the middle of March, but it came early and it takes away so much stress! I am kicking myself though for not ordering a smaller size. The dress I tried on at the shop was little too big, the lady at the shop told me not to order a size smaller because the one in the shop was stretched and of course it is easier to size down then up. My plan all along was to lose weight and I told her this but I guess it sounds like a cliche :) I did manage to lose some pounds so now the dress is about 3 inches to big in the waist and above area. Oh well. I have to bring it in next week for alterations, but there is so much lace detail on my dress I am really worried.

So besides that I still have to find jewelry, a veil and hair flower and am looking for a little input. I live in a real remote area (the only way to even a walmart is about a 7 hour drive over a dirt road) and have left the ordering of those things to an online source.

I am looking for a very classic, typical, not too large and affordable chandelier earrings online - any suggestons?

I was thinking of not doing a necklace, I love the simplicity, but my sis really thinks I should - what do you think?

I am also thinking about doing a 1 tier waist length veil in ivory (the underlay in the dress is white but the lace on top is ivory), do you think that will suit the dress? And should it be ivory? I am really tempted to do a birdcage too! I won't beable to try on any veils here so I do have to order something. I found some on etsy, any suggestions for a place online?

As you can from all the questions, I am a very indecisive person and I have been lingering with all these decisions. Any input would be greatly appreciated! I tried it on last night and really should have taken pictures - I will for my first fitting!!

Here is a picture of it on the model....

I love the dress! I probably wouldn't do any big jewlery...just stud earrings, either diamond or pearl, a simple bracelet and a hair flower. The dress is so pretty on its own. And as far as the alterations go, its easier to take a dress in than it is to let it out cheesy.gif

Thanks ladies! What do you think of these earrings? Too much? I love chandelier earrings and haven't really had a chance to wear them before but I don't want to have everything too busy either :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
