thanks so much.
we are having our friend who is a baker here make up some "tropical" options for us and a traditional rum cake so we can see what we like, I was just hoping it wasn't for fun and actually would come in handy.

Frank13-
I found a pic online of a cake that I liked and just sent it to them and asked them if they could replicate it. So, if your friend does a cake that you really like, you may want to send a pic of it to the bakery in Jamaica. Initially I was going to do different flavors for each layer and they said they would be able to do that, but to keep costs down, we just went with the same flavor for both tiers. They were pretty good about answering my MANY questions!

our friend is actually baking many flavors in one with no decorative theme...purely for taste. and our family is getting together to watch movies, eat pasta and eat cake. we are into food lol!
I'm glad they'll answer questions and go by a photo. very nice.

Dr. Brainfreeze:
What flavor did you go with for your cake? Guava, strawberry or pineapple?

Does anyone know how long it takes for Sheila to get back to you? I sent it twice about 3 weeks ago and nothing!
