Newbie: Marrying in Mexico

Hi All,

I can't believe I have been engaged almost a year and have been planning a DW and I just found this site. WOW. This is great. Thanks to the organizers and hosts and all my fellow brides and brides to be for this amazing outlet/source of info.

I will intro myself, tell you about my experiences, and offer what help I can. My fiance and i are planning a wedding in Mexico (PDC/Cancun area) for Dec 2009. I have been to Mex many times (and have traveled and lived all over the world) and would be happy to share any info I have. I have stayed at Excellence Playa Mujeres, Secrets Capri, Royal Hideaway, and have site visited Secrets Maroma and Valentin Imperial Maya. I have pix of all. Feel free to ask me about any of them (it may take me a day or so to get back to you b/c I don't have access to this site at work but I promise to respond).

Right now I'm trying to decide between Valentin or Azul Sensatori or El Dorado Royal. Food, service and a beautiful beach is important to us. We like aspects of all and would appreciate any feed back (esp on the Valentin as that seems to be where we are heading). The one unknown for us there is the food. We are HUGE foodies. We love Food network, going to cooking classes, make 30 reservations (okay a bit of exaggeration) for restaurant week, and host dinner parties all the time. We understand the food might not be amazing, but we want it to be good. Any feedback would be most appreciated.

Thanks and good night (and good luck!)

And thanks for having me!

Welcome to the forum! You'll find plenty of help here. I was a Azul Fives Bride and I'm probably goign to Azul Sensatori. It was my first choice but they had some quirks to work out. Now Sensatori is getting better and Karisma has made many changes to make the resort much better. You should read the Azul Sensatori Thread, this will shed some light on the resort!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
