HI!

I'm a newbie and I just saw pictures of the Sunset da Mona Lisa in Cabo. I'm waiting to hear back from their event coordinator. Does anyone have additional information on site fee, buyout minimums, etc? Is this place reasonably priced?

I looked at this place for my rehearsal dinner, but decided that it was too expensive for that. I know there are reviews on the forum about the Mona Lisa, because I recall reading one where a wedding bar tab was disputed and the forum member was unhappy. But the Mona Lisa was recommended by one of the wedding coordinators I spoke to as well. Initially the Mona Lisa event coordinator misunderstood my request and sent me buyout infor relevant for a wedding for 50 guests - hope it helps. I recall I emailed her a couple of times before getting a response.

"For a group your size I would recommend having Ceremony and cocktails on terraza de oriente with a Minimum Consumption fee of $1100.00USD plus 10% tax plus 17% service charge and then move everyone to the City Lights area for dinner, this area has a Minimum Consumption fee of $2300.00USD plus 10% tax plus 17% service charge. If you wish to have your guests dance after dinner I would recommend the salon for dancing and dinner, this has a Minimum Consumption fee of $5000.00USD plus 10% tax plus 17% service charge. If you do have them in the salon I will waive the MCFee at Terraza de Oriente, so this area will be complimentary. The Minimum Consumption fee is the minimum amount of money you will have to spend in food and beverage."

Nice place to work at, a bit of trouble getting to the beach for the after ceremony session, but still great service and staff. Very beautiful sightseeing location. A bit windy, though very helpful for improved photoshoots. No worries you'll be fine.! enjoy

My daughter is getting married at the SDML in June & I would be happy to send you their 2010 pricing info...unfortunately I don't know how to post on here. Emma, who was the sales manager for a long time, has left...the new person is David.

I am looking to have my wedding at Sunset Mona Lisa however I feel like there are alot of extra costs than if I was to have it at a resort....photographer, DJ, florist, etc? If you have had your wedding there what did you find for costs? Was it worth the money? What was the avg cost? We are looking at about 50 people and we want to have dinner and dancing afterwards?

Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
