My deposit deadline has came and gone and only 2 people booked!!!!

Recommended Posts

*sigh* same story, different bride! I know how you feel all too well. I too have a march deadline and gave people @ 2 FREAKIN YEARS to save their money and book. But nooooooo, they want to wait until the very last minute to make their deposit payments and complain about how "its too much money". PuhLEASE. I send out reminder emails every month as everyone was on a payment plan, but to no avail! You're not alone.

oh no I'm so sorry...we had a similar issue but I pretty much called every single person about 2 days before the deadline to put a bit of pressure on them

i know how you feel. i gave everyone 18 months to plan and here i am a little less than 4 months away and people are not doing anything. i would rather them say they are not coming than do this. it gets to the point where it is rude. for 2 weeks air jamaica prices were very low, i tried to get everyone to book then. of course some didn't and somehow it is my fault. now the price is almost $500 and i don't care anymore. i don't want to hear about it. i have been to 11 weddings in 2.5 years and i never did this to one of the couples. i want to go elope and forget these people.

Good post! I thought it was just me and my crazy folks, lol!

So far I have 20 people booked and going with us and a few that keep saying that they "want to go", but as far as I'm concerned, either they do or they don't. My booking deadline was December 1st, but 50% of my booked guests did so within the last month. I'm planning for thirty guests total and that includes my grandparents that live on the island.

I just take a deep breath and say oh well. I have not even gotten to the point you girls are, have not sent std's yet, but I am already getting why don't you get married here and go to jamaica for your honeymoon. You know we have all heard the same story from our family and friends. Blah Blah Blah.

I think when the times come for me, I will be disappointed but will look at it oh well there loss and be happy with those that do book.

I do agree its very rude, I want to buy my oot bags contents but will end up either having to much stuff or not enough.

Just enjoy your day with your new husband!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
