Recommended Posts

I know a lot of people aren't coming which is cool with me, but when I ask people they are saying I forgot or you told us too far in advancecensored.gifdo they mean i told them too far in advance? If I would've sent them out like a traditional wedding then they will say it ws too late....It's like i can't do anything to please anyone. The ticket prices have went up too, so u know that will be another problem. I haven't sent out my invitations as of yet, but I will try to send a reminder post cards out before I send my invites out which will come out in March..I think I'm going to send the reminder cards and then the invites and whoever respond responds cause I'm about to go crazy girl_werewolf.gif...Have anyone else had this problem?

I'm sorry but "I fogot!"......hello they are a adults! It's ridiculous that you have to send out reminders! People are just amazing and not in a good way!

We sent out a save the date, and an invitation with a please RSVP by March 1st becuase we aren't doing a group rate, so if they wanted to wait until the last minute they were more then welcome to. I have taken the stance that I am not hunting people down, if they come they come, I am not their babysitter!

For whatever reason, I don't think some people really, seriously, pay attention to RSVP etiquette until they plan their own event! LOL

You wouldn't believe how many people I had book way after the booking deadline. And like Jennifer, people were still booking a week or 2 before our wedding. Even though some paid more, I looked at it as not being my fault or my problem! So trust me, you're not alone in this situation!

I wouldn't waste the money on reminder post cards. You sent a Save the Date and you will send out an invite. Do you have a wedding website? I found this to be helpful. I put all our info on their including the travel agent's info, so when they are ready they can contact her. We purposely chose not to do group rates b/c we know our families (even though we love them) and friends can be procrastinators. You could just send out an email reminding them. I wouldn't spend anymore money considering that those that will plan late will do it regardless of how many times they are reminded. Keep in mind you still have until July. That is ALOT of time for people to book. Its their own faults if they have to pay more and don't let them make u feel bad about that!

I sent out a lot of email reminders too - nothing formal. Also, if I noticed a deal I sent out the details of that too. I just had a group in my email contacts called invited guests and then a separate one for people who had already booked - that way I could communicate specific resort information/packing list/etc wtih them as well!

Don't sweat it too much hun...there are going to be lots of ups & downs when dealing with people on this. You have to just let most of it slide off your back, it's really not worth stressing over!!

We are getting married next year, but sent out our std's this week, with a deadline of the end of march, as we are going to the ta at the very beginning of april. We have stated that if people are wanting us to book for us, with the chance of getting a possible group discount, to rsvp us before then. If we don't hear from anyone, i'm certainly not going to chase anyone!

I'll keep you all posted on how our rsvp's work out!hee hee

I had this problem with my group back in Jan. The travel agent pushed back our deadline three times because our group was slacking so much. The last and final deadline was 2-1-09 and everyone booked except my MOH and my FI's family. They say they are going to just pay the higher amount and so be it. I think all of us brides gave everyone so much time because it is alot of money but if people don't take the responsibility to book when they have the info they need to do so, i.e your Save The Date, then I wouldn't send out another reminder. I thought about that also because I noticed not everyone has RSVP'd and I specifically asked them all to RSVP on our website but then I decided, like someone else said, these people are adults!! I'm not reminding them of anything else.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
