Help! How do I narrow down the resorts?

I'm trying to decide on a resort to have our DW and I'm not exactly sure how you guys found the particular resort you chose? Do I just google resorts in the area I would like to go to or what? We are looking for a resort in Dominican Republic or Jamaicaa and we are having a very small wedding...only 4-6 ppl including us and maybe 2 kids that are 12-14 yrs old...I just don't know how to find the right resort for this as I don't want to end up in a resort that is known to attract alot of seniors or to attract alot of 20year olds that are there for partying hard and I don't want a place that is loaded with kids LOL so how do I find a resort? How do you narrow them down to a small list?

I'm still in the stage of trying to pick a rsort myself lol...however, I have checked out the reviews on this forum of the different resorts that brides have chosen as well as read a TON of thr threads from what destinations I was looking at. Also check some travel sites to see what the prices are and what fits in your budget. Hope this helps! Good luck:)

I would contact a destination wedding travel agent to assist you with your picking a resort and booking your travel! They should ask lots of questions about what you desire and are looking for and then be able to offer you choices that fit your parameters!

 

Keep in mind that TA's are familiar with the resorts, the differences in amenities and ambiance plus a general price point for the time of year that you are traveling.

 

I highly recommend thatyou also find a TA that specializes in DW's- it's quite diffrent than booking everyday vacations or even honeymoons and many ppl end up with issues when they've used a TA that is not a DW specialist!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
