Hi everyone!!! I recently got engaged and have decided on a destination wedding in Aruba (2.20.2010)! We are visiting Aruba in April and have appointments to see the Radisson and the Renaissance. Has anyone been to either resort? Is one more expensive than the other? Any thoughts and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated:)

Also, I noticed a lot of people are hiring a wedding coordinator in addition to working with the hotel. What are the reasons for this? How much are their fees?

    Thanks in advance!!!

              Hi Mandy,
I'm also recently engaged and planning a destination wedding in Aruba April 2010. I've received information from the Marriott, Hyat, and the Westin. They are all comparable in price. The MArriott has a per person price that includes everything- linens to flowers. Or a la carte options. Do you have the contact information for the Renissance? I haven't heard back from them and I'm very interested in having the wedding there.

I'm not hiring a wedding coordinator. All of the resorts I've been in contact with provide them.

According to what Maureen said, i would choose the Raddison. It sounds amazing for a beautiful wedding, and like it would really wow your guests.
As far as wedding coordinators, some brides use them, some only use the resort. Personally, the only outside vendor that I had was my photographer, so I didn't feel the need to use a seperate wedding coordinator. Instead I spent the extra cash on flying my photographer in and having a private reception.

Yes I agree- an outside photographer is a great suggestion.
