Hi ladies

Hope you can help me??!! We are having a wedding weekend and have decided not to invite children. None of our family have kids, only friends of ours. Most of them are under the age of 5, and we felt that having children at the wedding would change the atmosphere. Also i would like my friends to enjoy their time at our wedding and relax without having to worry about their kids. I want to put something in the Save The Date cards but without it sounding horrible.

Anyone got some suggestions?

Thanks

My resort is adults only so I didn't have to worry about it. But I have received invitations that Adult Only. Also when addressing STD's or invitations simply put the people's names who you are inviting instead of writing the family name. That sound really confusing let me provide an example

Instead of: The Weber Family

You could do: Tom and Sara Weber

To me that lets people know.

Just be prepared that some of your guests may not come to your wedding if children are not welcome. If you are ok with that then no problems! Going to a DW means being away from home for quite many days and leaving young children or even babies / finding a babysitter for longer time can be impossible.

But I really agree with you having children at your wedding changes the atmosphere especially if there are many!

Well, our wedding will not be child-free as we have a 4-year-old daughter but she will the only child at the wedding though cheesy.gif

I am somewhat having the same problem. We are not taking my FI little girl. Which that was his doing so no big deal there. My little brother who is my life will be 15 when we get married and the Wedding date was set up around him thats how much I want him there. Now my FI sister has a kid that is 13 and 10 and is kinda having a hard time with this. No one else is bringing kids so it is almost a kid free wedding. I just don't understand why she can see it, that is my brother and not look at the age. That would be like me telling one of his sister oh you can't go. My FI understands where I am coming and he gets it but she is kinda having a hard time. What do I do? I think brother is a little bit diff. then the sisters kid.

We decided to not have kids at our wedding, however my FI has so many friends with kids we wanted to think of a solution that would work for everyone. So, after much debating we found a resort that has an adults-only section (for my friends LOL) and a family section, and then for our actual wedding day we told our guests that it's adults only. So some have decided to leave the kids at home with family, some will get sitters at the resort and some are bringing the grandparents on the trip! I haven't heard any complaints at all from anyone so it seems like it's a good solution for everyone!

I like BeachBride's solution, or an adults only resort. Many times people have to sacrifice to come to a destination wedding so it is their only vacation. And then to be told that their kids are not welcome to come on the vacation would be hard. Maybe you could provide someone to babysit during the wedding, or if the resort offers that service you could help with the cost and you could have a kid free wedding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
