my father and son both walking me down aisle?

Recommended Posts

HI,

We are only having a MOH and BM. This is my second marriage. My 20 year old dgth is my MOH. I want my son to be part of the ceremony, he is 15. Any thoughts?? What do you think of my dad walking me half way and my son the other half??

That's exactly what I will be doing.

I am only having a MOH and BM as well. My 10 year old daughter is a flowergirl/jr bridesmaid but I want her to walk me down the aisle. She told me that "Grandpa" should be the one escorting me. However, as this is my second marriage, and a super non-traditional ceremony, I want my daughter to be the one to "give me away" to my FI, her step-dad, and stand with us as we exchange our vows.

So, we have decided that my Dad will walk me down half way and give me to my daughter and walk behind us to take his seat and have her walk me the rest of the way, take my FI's hand and then give it to me.

I think that it's a great way to include your son in the wedding. I too have also considered having my father and daughter walk me down together if it won't work out with the original plan.

I'm glad you asked this... I wanted to include both my father and step-father in the ceremony and wasn't sure the best way. I love my father dearly but grew up in the house with my step-father. I was planning to have both of them walk me down the aisle up until the front row where I will give my step-dad a peck on the cheek and he will have a seat, then have my dad be the one to actually "give me away". I'm curious if anyone else has any other ideas?

I was planning to have both my adult son and my father walk with me, and I was really excited about it. But it now seems that Dad won't make it. He just entered hospice care and probably won't be with us for much longer. He would have been 90 for my wedding, and was really looking forward to it.

I am sorry to hear your dad might not make it. My FI just lost his mother, so this is a bitter sweet time and will be a emotional wedding for his entire family. We are going to try our best to honor her memory at the wedding while trying not to make it a sad time. There is a couple of threads on here regarding memorial things to do at ceremony/reception

I don't know if your doing a sand ceremony, but I am also doing a family sand ceremony- wording includes kids and they pour sand in with us, uniting all of us...

I did think about having the both walk with me, just don't know which one would be better. It will be hard to hold flowers if walking with both maybe. So ladies which wayhuh.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
