How soon after your wedding did you get pregnant?

I would say don't rush it. Get your schooling out of the way--its way too hard when you have kids and juggle education. Get yourselves established financially unless you already are in addition to your FI. I am older, 35, and was established financially along with FI and we had our son (who is 2), because I did not want to wait until a wedding (lol). In any event, the point is enjoy your time together and get your schooling out the way. All the best..

We waited 6 months. But, we already lived together for four years so we had that "alone" time and we are both financially stable and ready. Not to mention, I've been given a small window of opportunity by my doctors. So there's that.

My fiance and I plan on waiting at least a year after our wedding before trying to have babies. He is a teacher and wants to plan the pregnancy where I have a baby around May or June which is his summer break. I am 30 and he wants to have 3 kids and I figure we can't wait too long.

I know... I can be stubborn at times. We will both be 24 when we get married. And we will wait until I'm at my at first nursing job for a year before trying. Like mentioned, We already have lived with each other for a while, but we still don't want to rush in the end. thanks everyone for your thoughts. Our time will come! Patience is a virtue.

We got married after 9.5 yrs of dating and a 3 yr engagement and didn't have any plans for children at first. Well, our wedding was in October and I got the "urge" in April to get off the pill (DH was not opposed lol) and got pregnant in September:) I agree with other girls who say that your education and financial stability have to come first, especially considering how young your are. You'll be glad you did! wink.gif

I got pregnant a little over a month after we got married blush2.gif It was important to me to finish school and become financially stable before I got married and started having children. So, when I did get pregnant my DH and I were very secure and relieved with the fact that we would be able to afford a baby without struggling.

You should finish your schooling for sure! Especially with the economy today, you need as much education as you can to make yourself stand out from everyone else when it comes to the job market. Maybe get a second puppy and it will take up all your time and give you lots of love!!!

We have been married for 9 months (yesterday, yay!) and still not pregnant. Our original plan was to revisit it in 2 years. But now that there is little over a year left, it seems so close. I am glad that I havent' gotten pregnant, but we worry that we will have trouble when we do since we are both 30 already. Ideally, we'd wait yearssssssssss, but I think we will probably have to start trying in 1-3 years.

We started trying during our wedding week, and I got pregnant 6 months after our wedding. We had dated for 2 1/2 years and lived together for 2 years, so we had our alone time as well. We were both very ready to start a family before we got married. Now we have 12 week old Luke :) I would not change that for anything in the world!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
