Definetly, do your reasearch on them like I did, we are getting married at the Del mar in may...
Make sure to look at the details:
+there megapixel on their camaras
+do they respond to emails in a timely manor (ummm, they didn't respond at all to mine)
+are there pics in focus
+do you like posed pics or more photojournalistic ones (if you like photojournalism better this is not the company for you)
etc...

All in all, I recommend from reading alot ALOT of posts not to go with the resorts photography (check out posts on tripadvisor.com too)... We are going with claudiaphoto.com and using Citlalli. Because after doing my homework and asking millions of questions we weren't satisfied with the resorts photographer but that's just us...

THere is an entire thread dedicated to Iberostar Brides. Just do a search for it and it should pop up!

Hope it helped!

We hired an outside photogrpaher, but used fotocaribbean for our videographer. We were extremely disappointed in our video so I'm so glad we did not use them for our pictures. The pictures were extremely important to me so I'm really glad we paid more for an outside photographer, I just wish we had done the same for our video.

Rule number one... you have to find the photography style that you want. Number two... you need to find the person that shot that and hire them... not someone that works for them.

Photos are a very personal thing and you should love them. Good photography lasts the test of time and great photography brings out emotion and allows you to remember a moment in time!

Best of luck with all your plans.

After talking to some of the Tucan brides, I have decided to use an outside photographer as well. Thanks girls (you know who you are) for the great information. I think I will be very pleased with my decision.

Just wanted to chime in on this one too. DH and I were initially looking in to using fotocaribbean as it was a more cost-effective option as opposed to hiring an outside photographer, however, after seeing fotocaribbean's website (yikes, it looks a bit better now but it used to be much worse) and seeing samples of their work via a very dissatisfied bride on the mr. iberostar boards, I decided against using them. Best decision I ever made. I am so thrilled with how my PROFESSIONAL pictures turned out that I can't believe I ever considered using fotocaribbean. I find their shots to be very posed/cheesy/fake and they make all couples that get married there use the exact same locations and the exact same poses. It is not creative or original at all. Just my opinion though.

Best of luck to you! There is a plethora of talented photographers that post here on BDW, I would talk to them and see what they can do for you. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
