I haven't used drysol, but I've only heard great things about it. some people it starts working the next day and some people it can take up to week. Although if you want it for your face tell your dermatologist cause you need a lower concentration for your face than the rest of your body.

I also sweat really bad on my back. But I bought a backless dress, so if I start sweating I will just make my way to the bathroom and dab my back! ha kinda sounds gross!

I used Drysol for years, and it really was a miracle worker... BUT, if you use it too much (like every day), it can cause your skin to burn like you wouldn't believe--I mean the kind of pain that makes you cry. It also left a lot of red irritation. SO, I definitely would not put it on your face! If you're serious about using Drysol, make sure to start using it months before your wedding so you can have a better idea of what your skin can handle. Personally, I switched to Clinical Strength Secret, and I think it really almost as good. Just put it on at night--deodorant works better if you apply it at night.

Does anyone know more about that Drysol? I was thinking of going to a dermatologist and inquiring about it. Do you know if you can use it on your face?

I believe that I sweat more than is typical/normal, especially on a few places of my body (oddly, not really my armpits), but I am sooooo afraid about my face. I sweat profusely on my upper lip and forehead (I've always been that way) and I will sweat on my upper lip if it's 78 degrees out. You can imagine what that does to my makeup. sad.gif

I also sweat an unusual amount on my back (whyhuh.gif it's so strange) so I think I will definitely try the spray on antipersperant there.

I've never been motivated to do anything about it until now. I don't want my wedding pictures to look awful. sad.gif
You and me both, sister. I'm actually hyperthyroid (my body's engine is revved up too high) so I am hot ALL the time anway unless I'm just freezing cold. No in between. I've worried about the same thing in regards to my pics...but loving the idea of the anti perspirant. NO WAY would I use it on my face...I'm thinking that would be a very, very bad idea. lol But I think it should do the trick nicely for everything else. No different than deodorant body spray that used to be so popular, y'know?

Something that DOES help me though? Ice. I chew it constantly for about twenty minutes BEFORE I have to be outside for something and it cools down your core so much that your body takes longer to overheat in the high temps. I'm going to have a big glass of it in our room before coming down for the ceremony, and grab some the minute we're done so I can chomp away before we do more pics.

I'm gonna try the Drysol too! Here's a link to buy it direct and they do have the concentration for faces! http://www.buydrysol.com/

I have hyperhydrosis(feet/hands) and I hated Drysol. It smelled horrible and it did burn my skin. I hated putting it on before bed and then hoping it didn't run off and ruin my sheets and sleeping with my hands up. It never worked on my feet and it made my hands so dry the skin cracked. In fact my sweating was so bad I had surgery to stop it. Turns out that was a mistake cuz sure my hands are dry but my feet aren't(sweat worse now) and now my back sweats disgustingly.

So while there are some really good ideas on here I just wanted to put in my 2cents. I really think Drysol only works for those that don't sweat that exessively cuz I know it didn't work for me or a friend who also has hyperhyrdosis.

  • 3 months later...

Wow this is great! I joined "The Knot" (just so I could see the dresses) and now they won't stop sending me emails! Occassionally I look at them and this one in particular mentioned speaking to a dermatologist about getting a Botox injection for your wedding day to stop sweating... I thought that was kinda strange, but worth investigating, so I decided to come here to the experts and sure enough you guys are/have discussed it..

Thanks...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
