Just wondering if anyone DIDN'T wear a necklace and just earrings for their DW? I'm sorta short between my neck and wear the top of my dress starts (dresses with straps look ridiculous on me!) and I've been debating wether or not to even wear a necklace. Chokers are out of the question because they feel too restricting on me.

Anyone have any ideas/input on this? If you have pics, that would be great help too!

Thanks gals! :)

I also have what I like to call "short neck syndrome". I think it has to do with my big boobs, that by the time I get a dress that covers up my cleavage to a respectable level I feel like there is not a lot of room between my neck and dress, etc.

So I do not plan on wearing a necklace at all, I think a choker would even break it up (makin neck look shorter) so I plan on just selecting some earrings to elongate my neck hopefully.

I have to ask this on this thread also, do you thing hair up or down will make the neck look longer?

I have a fairly long skinny neck, and I'm not wearing a necklace. I don't even think I'm wearing earrings (but I have an absolutely fabulous bracelet my cousin is custom making, with about $300 worth of gemstones). I'm wearing a strapless dress b/c I know my fiance likes my shoulders and collarbone, and I really don't feel any need to detract from the dress or my body with a necklace (if I had a different neckline I would have gotten a necklace, but I definitely don't feel it's always the best option).

I never wear earrings on a day to day basis, so I'm not wearing any for the wedding b/c I don't feel I'll look like me. So basically, wear what you think suits you and the dress best :)

I am a jeweler...and from the expert opinion...you don't need to wear a necklace. I am not wearing one myself. Instead I am wearing a dress clip on my neckline (a brooch will also work). I am also wearring some earrings I made and a bracelet that is a family hierloom from FMIL.

Here is a pic of my jewelry and dress:

I have the same problem. There will be a band of beading right across the neckline and I fear that things won't match. I'm having a hard time actually finding a necklace that I like. I think that I'll just stick with some great earrings.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one with the "short neck syndrome" lol

I'm not too sure about the hair thing. I guess that would be something a hairdresser would be able to tell you.

I went with dangly earrings and a bracelet. The bodice of my dress was beaded and I had a sparkly hair clip and I didn't want to look over-done. I'm petite with big boobies, so there wasn't a lot of room.

I did look at a few necklace options and my best advice is something really simple if you decide to go with one. The girls had pendant necklaces that matched their stud earrings and the cocktail rings we all wore.

Of course, I don't have any detailed pictures, but here you go...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
