Riu Montego Bay (RMB) *Post wedding info and attachments*

I don't quite understand why you would go all the way to Jamaica & then get married in a garden ? Wouldn't the beach be the focus of why you chose Jamaica in the first place? The backdrop of the sand, water, & beach is what makes the photos so awesome in any of the pictures I've seen. I do think the far beach location is by far the best choice of venues....the gazebos are not very private due to their location. The plaza gazebo is close to the Exodus bar & near the pool so you end up with lots of "gawkers" & the beach gazebo is like right in the middle of a very popular portion of the beach & you have people sitting on lounge chairs just 20 feet from your wedding guests. At least at the far beach location, you would be away from any crowds & you can can great photos near the rocks at the end of the property. You have lots of time to keep watching this thread to make your final decision.

Hi! and Welcome to the forum!

The reason you can't access any attachments is because the forum requires you to have points in order to open attachments. They want to make sure you are being an active member. You can get points by reading threads, posting (like you did here), or starting your own thread. There is actually a thread on how to collect points that you should read before trying to start your own thread though cause there are rules....sounds complicated but it really isn't....oh and you're not supposed to ask someone to send you stuff, you're just supposed to wait till you have enough points.

hope that helps!

Thanks, I will take the information from anyone just as long as its reliable ;0) I am still a little bit shakey about RMB because of the airport issue. Is that the reason why so many people talk about the drug dealers on the beach. I am not looking forward to having my mom be approached if you know what I mean. At any rate, who has the best pictures and info for RMB. I have actually been taking notes re: all of you guys this site has been a God send.

You're lucky cause when I booked my wedding and then found this site RMB wasn't even open yet so we were anxiously awaiting the first BDW bride to get married! We were grasping at anything to get information. There are quite a few reviews on here for RMB so I hope they help you. Here's mine http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t41560 the wedding coordinators have changed and I think they use palm leaves now instead of the bamboo arch on the beach for the ceremony but other than that I think everything is pretty much the same.

Good luck and happy planning! and remember, in the end all that matters is that you are marrying the man of your dreams. your wedding day will be perfect no matter what cause you can't get any better than the turquoise water and white sand beach as a backdrop.

I like your last statement alot. I guess I feel panicky about everything because I just want my guests (that are spending a pretty penny) to have the time of their lives too. Sometimes all of this planning stuff just makes me want to elope, lol. Thanks so much and your threads have been particularly helpful.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
