Surprisingly I got my approval of my submisson today! But the info that we have to fill out to get our date for sure asks what days we have booked and what TA we used. I haven't booked yet! My TA says that she has requested information and such but because it is still so far in advance there are no dates as of yet.

Are any of you running into the same problem?

OH my god, I got my approval today as well. I thought we had 3 months to confirm not 30 days. I am really confused on what to do. I had thought about just booking the room and hopefully cancelling it after making a group booking in the future when the prices came out. I am not sure what to do. I do work for a travel agency but only part time and very new to the industry I am going to run it by my boss and see what her suggestion is. I am afraid of booking the room now then when the rates come out rebooking with group rate then cancelling that original room I would be afriad of losing the wedding time and date. OH boy got to do some searching!

Let me know what information you have come up with!

Ok I just went on the RUI booking site for rooms and the dates I want aren't even available for me to book yet! I guess sometime during the week I may have to try to call RUI weddings and see what they suggest I do since RUI has not even released the prices for DEC 2010.

Lets keep each other posted on any ideas etc

So I went back onto the ROR room reservation site and played around until I could actually book a room. I wanted to know what type of deposit would be required this is what I have copied from their site

GUARANTEE OF RESERVATION. The credit card number is needed only to hold your reservation. You will pay at the hotel directly upon check in. In case of no show the date of your arrival a charge of one night will be processed on your credit card. The same amount will be charged if the reservation is not cancelled 2 days prior to the date of arrival.

So taking that into consideration. I would think we could just book a room only on their site and then when the TA can get the group rates in a few months then we could just go in and cancel that room and let the wedding co-ordinator or who ever we are suppose to be dealing with that the reservation has been changed. I plan on booking just a standard room, but then when the time comes book the Jr Suite. I still plan on phoning the reservation number sometime next week.

The stress begins lol

Hello all,

I submitted my request last Friday for Feb 2010 and am just waiting to hear back. I have already booked my wedding party in (from the UK). We will be staying for 2 weeks apart from myself and fiance who will be staying for 3 weeks. Really hope I get my confirmation back soon and hope that you do not lose your dates before you manage to book for your wedding party.

YoungLove, take that as a blessing since the package prices for hotel and flight aren't even out yet.

I did email the girl at Rui and they have also extended my deadline until April 13/09. So I guess I will just wait and see what happens closer to that date and see if the prices come out for the hotel room.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
