Ladies who wore their hair 1/2 up 1/2 down or all the way down..help!

Oh! I forgot we had already seen your dress (my bad) when I saw it I remembered. I think with your dress the all the way up do would be best. But I agree the most important thing is that you feel beautiful and comfortable. You will look fabulous and happy and glowy either way.

I am struggling with the hair issue as well...although I have a bit of time to figure it out wink.gif I keep thinking that maybe I will do more of an up-do (I keep picturing a low side ponytail with loose curls) for the ceremony and pictures and then make sure that it is something I can let down for afterward.

Maybe you could have them to an up-do for your ceremony/pictures that can turn into a half up/half down for the celebration afterward - that way you have pics of you in both hairstyles and you don't have to worry about the wind. Just an idea wink.gif

I agree it would be more comforable to wear up. My prob again is I hate the way I look in pics with air up and if i am paying all this money for pics I want to like them. Try taking pics of yourself with a couple diff styles and see what you like. I style might look great on one person and not on another. face shape....

Hello fellow Edmontonian!!! I am having the same dilemma as you , I really want the half up half down hairstyle but eveyone is saying that the pics will be horrible if it windy or really humid that day... I really, really want my hair to be down but I guess I have to see how the weather plays out!

  • 2 weeks later...

I am definitely doing my hair down, with just a couple front pieces pinned in the back with flowers. I don't really care if it's windy and my hair blows around a bit b/c it'll look even beachier! If I did an updo my hair would just get frizzy in the humidity and wind anyways, so I don't feel like having my hair down is going to make my photos any worse.

All that being said, Ill probably bring some pins and elastics as a backup, so that if it's ridiculously windy and I'm going crazy I can put my hair in a low pony-tail to one side (easy to take out after without doing damage, and it'd look good with curls).

I wanted a half up, half down 'do, but I'm not sure my hair will be long enough to pull it off... That being said, it may not even be long enough for an updo either :-(. It's barely touching my shoulders now, and the wedding is in 4 months. I have NO clue what to do with it! Oh, and to make matters worse, it's naturally wavy/curly so I'm worried that the heat and humidity will just make it go wild!

I once had VERY short hair (to my ears) and I was a BM for a friend's wedding. She wanted us all to wear our hair up. If figured I was good b/c with hair that short it's always up. :) But no, she wanted me to have an updo like the other girls, WTF? Anyway, I went to my hairdresser and begged for help, she did some magic and made my hair "appear" to be much longer and pulled into an updo on the crown of my head. It was amazing. You would be surprised what bobby pins and creativity can do for hair.

Or, you can always try extensions!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
