Ladies who wore their hair 1/2 up 1/2 down or all the way down..help!

Recommended Posts

Ok, so...I'm freaking out!

I still have no idea what I'm doing with my hair next Thursday (!!). I want to wear it 1/2 up 1/2 down but I'm really worried about my hair blowing in my face when we go to take pictures on the beach (ceremony is not being held on the beach, however).

So my questions is...how did you ladies deal with this?! I'm seriously considering putting all my hair up so it doesn't look rediculous in the beach pictures...I don't know what to do anymore! sad.gif

my ceremony was on the beach and we took pics right after on the beach. It wasnt very windy, my hair did blow into my hair a couple of times but that's it. It was no big deal.

I would pic a half up half down style and one where your hair is all back out of your face. Just check out how windy it is for the couple of days you'll be down before the wedding. I'm sure you can gage how your hair will be for your wedding by that. kwim?

I wanted to ware my hair all the way up. But my sister in-law is my hair dresser and she put extensions in my hair just for the wedding and talked me into have lots of cirls and wearing it down. IT DROVE ME NUTS WITH THE WIND. To this day I hate the way my hair looked and I wished that I had worn it all the way up.

I wore my hair mostly down. Just a little of the front was pinned back, but with some pieces hanging down in the front too. Honestly it was ok and it was pretty windy on our day. If you just pin some of the front back, you won't have to worry about it blowing in your face much and it looks kinda nice with the back blowing in the wind. Since you are just doing pictures on the beach you can also angle yourself so the the wind is blowing back and not blowing your hair forward. I think it'll work...

I'm having the same debate! What does your dress look like? I think it depends on your dress and the look you are going for. I think hair down is very simple, fresh, beachy and sweet with a flower. Hair up is more elegant and will last better in the humidity and wind. Do you have any inspiration pics and pics of what your hair looks like? You could post a poll and then we can all vote and you can get lots of opinions. Also, it depends on who is doing your hair and if they are comfortable doing updos. My friend who is coming is a hairdresser but she said doing updos is a special skill.

Here are some inspiration pics I am thinking of using :

We were in the Caribbean last week for our wedding cruise and it was windy every single day. Because of wind, heat, and humidity I planned to do an all up style. I only had a few pieces down around the front and even they drove me crazy with the wind. I'm sooooooooooo glad I chose an updo! It ended up pouring rain and lots of wind for our wedding and because I picked the style I did it stayed in one piece.

Those are very pretty inspiration pics!!

One thing to keep in mind, if you do wear your hair down and it's really hot, your hair will end up sticking to your neck---that personally drives me insane! But i know other brides on here did wear theirs down and it looked great! (IE: Cessyboston looked great in her wedding video that she just posted...) I guees it all comes down to what you're most comfortable with!

You must be so excited-7 days until you're married!!! Hope your day is beautiful and everything that you hoped for!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
