YAY!! This was actually FI's project to put inside colored vases. When I sent him the link, his exact words were:

Holy Crap! I just received and email from YOU from Instructableshuh.gif?? I never thought that day would come! (he is a big tech guy and loves electronics- I am *ahem* not handy like that!)

Then he says-- That article is actually the one that gave me the idea... so funny

My reply-- Haha!!!! Us BDW girls are ON IT! (as you can see, this is via email)

Really great idea! If you are like me you'll want to try this out before buying in bulk via ebay. I live in Toronto, so I went downtown to Chinatown and got a few lanterns, then over to Active Surplus on Queen St. Be warned Active Surplus will charge you $4 for the light and $2 for the battery. Dying to try it out I paid way too much and walked out of the store happy. Good news is I brought it home set it up and had a great glow. Then I tied a sheer blue organza ribbon to the top in a bow with the ribbon hanging down the sides. To my surprise when I turned the light back on the ribbon colour reflects the light back into the lantern. So it had a really nice soft blue glow. No need to buy colour lights or lanterns. Also bling'd it up with some small stick on rhinestones. So pleased I might use small 8inch ones as centerpeices. I also think I'll be using some in the backyard this summer. I have a lot of friends with little ones and I worry when we have candles out all over the place.

Excellent DIY!!!!

Is there anyone who made these LED lights and carried them on the plane with them? TSA regulations say all batteries have to go in the carry on. There are some rules around that, like they should be in their original packaging.

I was just wondering if anyone put their lights together and then carried them on an airplane? Or did you wait until you got to your destination to put them together?

thanks!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
