you can set them up w/ the on off switch. I put mine together2 days before our wedding w/ out the on off switch and gave them to our restaurant manager. Batteries don't just die, these are the kind you use in like a watch or the little remote to unluck your car... they last a while, and the LED's should last like 2 weeks so they shouldn't just die.

I bought all of the supplies to make these lights because the ones I found online and at the store had batteries that just lasted 5-8 hours. So we put one light together to test it and it's been lit now for over a week!

These are such a great idea. And thank you to everyone that posted on this thread. I felt like this would be alot of work and maybe not worth it, but it's really easy and now I have no worries about my lights staying lit all night.

I love this idea. And it's really not alot of work to put them together.
I was considering getting those fake candles to put into some lanterns I have, but this would probably be way cheaper. It really lasted 3 weeks? That's amazing!

Yes, it did! It's crazy because I expected them to last a week, tops. I made them exactly the way the directions said to. I am really happy with them because we can light them and drop them off at the wedding site and not worry about them for the rest of our trip, knowing they'll still be lit for our entire wedding!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
