Just think these shoes are rewards to all your fabulous DIY projects for the wedding and you put the savings to finish out the entire wedding day look. :)

I would love to see pictures of you with the shoes on and your dress. Don't forget to strike a pose that says "I'm WORTH IT!"

Oh, and did I tell you to LIE your behind off? If I didn't, do that..ignore everything and everyone telling you that you can just explain it this way or that. NO, girl. Lie. Or better yet, say nothing. He's a man and he won't think twice about how much you paid for shoes of all things....they'll be part of the wedding ensemble and he will never raise an eyebrow, so don't you DARE be the one to bring it up.

You got a good lookin' man and some good lookin' shoes...be happy and lie throug your teeth. That's all I'm sayin. lmao

When my fiance and I were in San Francisco he managed to convince me to buy $400 shoes (I was like WHAThuh.gif Are you CRAZY) and I haven't regretted it a bit. Every single time I wear them I get a million compliments, and even though they're heels I can wear them forever!

I don't know if its possible, but you should check to see if you can dye them black after the wedding (they would make absolutely fabulous "little black dress" shoes) and then you could have a memento from your wedding that you'd still get to wear!

Aww ladies I swear I LOVE each and every one of you!!! hug2.gif After much contemplation and reading your responses, I feel much better about my shoe splurge. And of course, I promise to take pics of my new kicks once I get them!

Yanno I was even thinking of maybe using them for my BD shoot to get more use outta them ~ what do you ladies think??

For those who asked they are Cole Haan shoes and yes ladies they are dyeable!! So after the wedding I am seriously considering dying them another color but GOOD LORD what if I screwed em up?!?! censored.gif

Anyhoo, I bought them from Nordstroms.com and because they have a kick ass return policy I can always return them if I don't like em in person or have buyer's remorse hehehe AKA Tommy kills me, strangles me, leaves me, Chris Brown's me (oooh so not funny, I'm sorry Rihanna, but it was just too tempting to go there). So here's the direct link: Cole Haan 'Ceci Air Rose' Dyeable Slingback - - Nordstrom

Now on to your responses.......

And don't worry about the FI, do what i do- when he asks how much they were, just say " they were on sale" nothing more, nothing less - works every time :)

Oooh I like that idea -- the "it's on sale" but I can just imagine him saying "WTF kinda sale is that?" BangHead.gif

But I will grant you..they are beyond cute. And it took a lot of courage to Just Do It.

My cheap ass would have just hot glued some mini roses from Joannes on some sling backs and called it a day.

OOooooh Savannah your post had me dying....you remind me so much of one of my best friends, she always has me crackin up!! :lmao: And girl, don't think I won't sport these shoes with EVERYTHING!!! Nightgown, check. Velour sweatsuit, check. Pajamas, check. Jeans and tank top, check. Walking around in my underwear, check. I swear these will become my new black. bunny_4.gif

And believe me you, if I see a shoe that's comparable, i.e. helluva cheaper, I swear I will head over to Walmart and buy those mini roses and do "an experiment" hehehehe. cheesy.gif

But seriously, you'll wear those shoes again. I would wear them all the time after my wedding. With cute jeans, sun dresses... love them.

hehehe, I am getting married on the beach barefoot -- but I figured I will wear these in all the pre-ceremony pics with my gals, and also at the reception which is inside a hall. But yes, with cute jeans and sundresses it is after that!!!

Abbie - they actually have Nike Air technology cushions to give me footsies comfort. THANK GOD I am such a whimp with painful heels on, so hopefully they will work. rolleyes.gif

While my bank account will take a hit, I haven't splurged much on any other aspect so I figure this would be my gift to myself! humble.gif

Awww, I do hope he'll be happy enough seeing me down the aisle.....either that or he'll be staring at my overpriced feet and secretly curse me. hehehe And yep, I hit purchase while sitting here at work. Think I can bill it as a work expense? lol blush2.gif

Again girl, too funny, hhehehehe!! I ran them by his sister and she said they're gorgeous but agreed that I should keep my mouth shut and let Tommy discover it on his own to avoid shitfan.gif

YAY ok good, well at least I'm not the only one who fell prone to the $400+ shoe investment. woot.gif And yes they're dyeable, and yep I was definitely thinking that black would get the most use!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
