That's funny, I put Philadelphia, because I grew up there and that is how I still think of myself, but I currently live with my fiance in Telford (near Quakertown), so I am probably close to you in Montgomery as well! Montgomeryville Mall used to be my home away from home, before I started to save for the wedding...

Well as the story goes... Matt and I met on a blind date set up by a lifelong friends mom. I grew up in Philadelphia and my parents moved to the suburbs when I was in my early 20's. Shortly after, my friends mom moved to the same town, and my girlfriend and I moved back to Philly. A few years ago, I came out of an uneventful relationship and was kind of lonely being back in the suburbs with my parents and not knowing anyone. So my friends mom, who had begun going to a family owned salon in the area, kept telling me that her hairdresser was the cutest, nicest guy ever. I told her, no thank you, for months and months. I am not very good at meeting new people and was totally not intersted in a blind date. She is pretty relentless though (thankfully), and after like 6 months or so, I finally agreed and we met and had instant chemsitry. Where I am weak, he is strong and vice versa. He loves talking, I would prefer to observe, etc. So we worked well together from the beginning. We knew after about 5 months of dating that this was it. There are so many weird parts to our story, of how our lives overlapped, but we never knew before. It just reinforces that we were meant to be together. My parents moved in about 7 years ago, less then one mile away from where his parents have lived for 30 years!

On our engagement... September is when we started ring shopping and I knew that I wanted a yellow diamond. It didn't take me long to find "the one", but it took verrrry long for the ring to be right. The ring that I wear now is the 3rd one that the jeweler gave to my fiance. He had to keep giving it back to him and I had no idea he was having so much trouble. I thought maybe he was just scared or holding off, cold feet. So finally, on December 20th, after almost 3 months of waiting for the ring, he came home from work and couldn't wait another second. He gave it to me in a chocolate box amongst a bunch of dark chocolate hersey kisses. I couldn't have been happier!

Sorry to be so lengthy, but this board seems to like it! I posted another set of pics of my ring below, b/c I seemed to have messed something up when I posted the previous ones and they came thru as links instead of pics.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
