Hello girls!!

I had a thought!! I have been to the Santa Fe, April 2008. For our reception I am leaning towards the steakhouse....but was thinking, if we were to have our reception dinner at one of the a la carts, would we have the entire place to ourselves? We are looking at having approx. 30 guests. It would be private??

Looks like we are the same day!! Im at 4 pm on the beach, dinner at 630 at the Steakhouse Terrace, and we booked the disco for a few hours after dinner!
How exciting! Have you just started the planning process? It feels like I have been planning forever as I kinda have considering we were to be married November of 08, but i had a baby (wasnt planned) in October and that was cutting it a lil short so moved it to APril!
Everything is pretty much done now, i just have to decided on centerpeices, and a few differnt decorations. And get a playlist ready. Oh and decide on a dress...i have two!
We are bringing a friend who is a photographer.
Countdown has begun!
How many people are in your group?
There are 30 so far in ours. Dont expect too many more. Ages are from 22-60yrs. A fun group!
We also booked a sunset cruise for our group on Tues April 21. A thank you for coming sorta deal.
I cant wait. Now just to run a little faster on the treadmill to be bikini worthy!!!
GOod Luck with all your palnnign if u need anything let me know!
Mineaux :)

Hi Abbygirl,
No you wouldnt have the place to yourselves. They call it "semi private" and section off a place for your party. I heard it works quite well. I guess it would also depend on how many guests you have as well.
You can have a private dinner in one of their conference rooms for $170 for 4 hours then you would also have to pay for the menu, When i looked into it it was between $30 and $50 per person and you have a few different menu choices., plus pay $15 per person PER HOUR for open bar.
That could add up!
I have heard reviews from past Santa fe brides that the semi private was just fine as they didnt even realize there were others around. Or People werent even around!
Hope this helps!

Have you seen the gazebo at the Santa Fe? Its a very pretty Gazebo but Its right next to the pool. Like a few feet! Not private at all.
Oh wait, you did say you have been there before so nevermind! And your wedding is at 6 right? SO most likely the pool would be cleared out?
If you check out Sandras review her ceremony was at 6 pm as well.

hehe I know it's probably silly, but I heard that it is really dirty and the kinda place that you feel like you need to shower after leaving sad.gif ... the review probably came from someone who's a neat freak (that is not me at all!! LOL) so I am sure it's not as bad as she said... I was hoping to set up something around the pool/outdoor bar for dancing after dinner... what do you guys think?? If the weather is good, I'd love to stay outside as long as possible.

Does anyone know if that is even possible??

:)

Hey girls,

I did the Steak house terrace and it was prefect. We had 26ppl. The didnt seat anyone else in the restraunt until 30 min after us. And they werent near us. It was Wonderful. About the dancing Im really no help. My father passed away 3yrs ago so we really didnt do the traditional dances. We can the cake cutting on the terrace after dinner. And to be honest I didnt even go in the disco at all. Some of my guest did I could ask them questions if you would like. We went to the common area where the shows are had some drinks and shots together and then 18 of us went out on the town we had a blast.

There is one thing that conerns me...It got dark at 7pm in Oct. I would ask Erika what time its getting dark now. I have heard of girls running out of time to get all their pics in before dark.

Hi Jess,
After dinner we booked the disco for a few hours. Its just somewhere to go thats private. We plan on doing our first dance etc there. Its $500 and it includes bartender, dj. We will use an Ipod thou as I heard that thats better. You cant decorate the disco, but i figure it will be dark so who cares, and by then Im sure the tequila will be flowing so it will not matter!

As for the sunset cruise we booked it through Cabo Sanlucas tours and its called "Escape the Sun" Sunset cruise.
It was $40.50 each and if you have 30 or more people, you can have the whole boat to yourselves. The boat holds 200 ppl.
You can also have it public for the same price. We ended up with the private cause, why the heck not!
That includes dinner and open bar. We are gonna do that the nite before our wedding~ What a way for everyone to be hungover for our day! oops!
None of our guests know about it yet, and I plan on giving a little card to say our Thanks and then have a little seasick pill inside expainiing whats going on...etc.
There are other cruises I looked into, but this one seemed to suit us the best and I heard fabulous reviews about it.
Hope this helps :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
