Decor Question: The colours that they have there for decor are ridiculous (lol) so like many other brides we're going to bring our own tulle for the ceremony decor. My question is: How much tulle did you bring and was it one of those wide rolls or short rolls?

Hello beautiful brides!

Does anyone know who the hotel photographer is for the Riu Sante Fe? Do they have a website? Also, I was reading through some posts and noticed that the Riu doesn't allow outside vendors anymore? Is photography one of them? I had sent an e-mail to Erika a while ago but still no response so I thoguht I'd try here:)

Hey ladies! We're back!! The wedding was gorgeous!! Everything went really well, and the photographer for the resort did an amazing job! I'm not sure their name or if they have a website, but I'll attach a link for my pics on facebook so you can see (since i can't figure out how to post pics). All in all everyhting went really well. The only problems we had were mostly with check in. Please make sure you and all of your guests bring their room confirmation, out of 14 rooms that we had booked ony 5 were right, and two weren't even in their system. Another piece of advice is to not upgrade your picture package with the resort, talk to the photographer and arrange something with them., We got almost 200 pictures printed in a leather album with all pictures on a disc for $200 just by talking to the photographer and not going through the resort.

Here are the links to my facebook albums (I have lots more than this, these are just the ones that I decided to post.):

*Also, a note about swine flu. None of our guest got sick, and we had no problem getting through customs or anything. The only problems we had were that two of our guests were asked to stay home from work for an extra week (with pay) just to be sure they didn't get sick.

Thank you!

We had the Royal package, which comes with 12 pictures. When I had my meeting with Erika she talked me into upgrading to 24 pics for just $35 more. I thought "no problem", so we did that. I met with the photographer right after I met with Erika and I asked about possibly getting more pictures (as I'd heard of another bride on here doing the same thing). She said that they would end up taking around 250 pictures and we could work something out when we looked at the pictures after the wedding. The wedding came and went, they took pics Wednesday during the wedding and of me and hubby after the wedding on the beach. We met on Friday to look at the pictures and for me to pick the 24 that I had paid for through the hotel. She offered them all to us for $300 (USD cash), my husband asked if she would take $200 and she said sure. She even waited while he went to the ATM. It was that easy. Just be sure to have cash, and don't be too eager, because they will take less than they originally say.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
