Hey girls! I'm not getting married at Riu Santa Fe but took a group of 15 there last April. This place made us decide to have a DW. The resort was great with your typical Mexico AI service. Make friends with the bartenders and they will hook you up and make your group have a great time.

My only warning is that the wedding we saw was right in front of the infinity pool with the hot tubs and swim up bar. The wedding was around 4 pm and the whole wedding party had to walk right by the pool to get to the ceremony. When the bride walked by all the drunken guests in the pool started "singing/screaming" You've Lost That Loving Feeling to her. This continued until she made it down the stairs and to the aisle runner. The bride/groom and younger people there thought it was funny, but the mother of the bride and older folks were appalled. Personally, we are now incorporating this song into our ceremony. But, for those more serious brides make sure you walk around the property the day before so you minimize those unexpected surprises.

Good luck planning and you picked a great place to get married :)

Hey guys, I am planning my wedding at the Riu Santa Fe 2.6.10. For those of who you had the ceremony on the beach, did you use an aisle runner? I am just trying to figure out what decorations for the ceremony I will need, that are not included. Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
