Hi all,

Could someone please give me some info about the Steakhouse terrace...would that be private? Does it cost extra? Do you have to pay for a private menu? Does anyone have any pics of the Steakhouse? What about the disco? Is it true that it includes a bartender & DJ? I'm hoping to have a little privacy without having to pay for the per person menu. Thanks for the help!!

The wedding was at 6 on the beach and there were people watching from behind ( in the pool bar) but it wasnt as bad as people say. you couldnt notice them during the ceremony they were considerate and after they all helped cheer and clap. THe dinner was at the steak house on the terrace and it was beautiful also. DInner was just as the sun was setting and it was very private. the food was incredable! we had ate at the steakhouse a few nights prior and had steak. At the wedding dinner we had chicken and it was delicious as well. We then went to the disco they rented it out for dancing. It looked like an 80s strip club inside (mirrors cherries and dark) but it was so much fun and very private as well. i suggest bringing your own ipod becasue the dj they had didnt speak english very well and it was hard to communicate http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...jacked.gifwhat songs we wanted to hear. all in all we had a great time and i am enjoying planning our wedding for 2010
Hi DestCabo,

Like you I'm a little ahead of the game. Thank goodness for this site! I would be so lost without everyones great reviews, ideas & shared information.
Have you decided on your ceremony spot & reception dinner yet?
Have you figured out who's going to do your hair & make up?

I have decided on the Gazebo at the Palace but still trying to figure out the reception, leaning towards a private reception at the Steak House Terrace. Just seems so expensive but I'm thinking it's worth it! I may get hair & make up done on site at the spa just for convenience sake.
Hope all your planning is going well!

hi! The steakhouse Terrace is semi private, there may be other guests on the terrace, there may not, not sure who would want to sit with a Wedding party though! IT doesn't cost extra, you just order off the menu. There was one review that had pictures of the Terrace, just search this website. The Disco is $500 and it includes the bar and DJ, I was also going to rent the disco from 8pm-11pm but I was a bit concerned when I heard that it smells really bad, like vomit! I'm going to wait until I get down there and see it for myself, if it is something a bit of frebreeze can fix that I'm sorted!
Most people who have had the steakhouse, so I have heard, have not had a problem with privacy. I think the review may be by Sandra C.

I just want to share that we visited the RIU Santa Fe while staying at the RIU Palace. It is amazing! The landscape and decorations are wonderful, the only difference is the service. we had breakfast there one morning, and the service was terrible. The service at the Palace is much better.

Erika sent me a Private Event document that listed the "Terrace of the Steakhouse" (Don Julios) as an area you could rent as private for $500...it also looks like you could still use the all-inclusive menu. I'm just not sure if you could have music & dancing there.

Just noticed its says your getting married at the Santa Fe, you want to be married at the gazebo at the Palace. Just a heads up, this cant be done. I wanted to dot he same, I was even going to pay for a day pass for all my guests, to be there for the day. To have your wedding at the Palace, 80% of your guests must stay there. If your getting married at the Santa Fe, you ahve to use their Gazebo (only fits group of 10) or go with the beach.

I was obsessed with that gazebo, was basically going to the Palace for it, with over 50 guests, the wedding package was going to set be back an additional $3000, Im went with the Santa Fe. Ive been twice, loved it both times :)

I think it all depends on what your used to. Most reviews of the Palace compared to the Santa Fe say it is a bit stuffy! My crowd are more laid back and go with the flow, I guess if your guests are used to high end 5 star they may be better with the Palace.
My group would probably get kicked out of the Palace!!! lol!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
