Hi Ladies- I'm getting married at the Riu Santa Fe on 4-21-09- Has anyone used the free wedding package? Any photos to share? It will be my fiancee and I as well as 2 other couples- My plan is to have a simple but elegant sunset beach ceremony- Need photography vendors also-

When are you getting married? I think you may be out of luck on the photographer. Riu seems to be being very strict about their "no outside vendor" rule. We are having a friend who is coming with us take pictures. Also, we signed up with the "royal" package, and it includes some pictures. I'm not sure if your package does, but the resort has a photographer that they use. You should write Erika and ask her for the photograofers web site and rates, and also ask her to send you pictures of a beach wedding. I know someone posted a youtube link on here for a wedding. I'll try to find the link. Good luck planning.

Hey everyone! We just got back yesterday :) Everything was amazing - I don't know how soon I'll have my review up, but if any of you have specific questions feel free to e-mail me at jessicaweber@shaw.ca and I will help you all out. BTW - On site photographer was great - no need to worry :) I paid a bit extra afterwards (150 USD) and they gave me the whole CD of 150+ photos that I can do whatever I want with. I suggest bringing a book of sample photos for the photographer to duplicate with your party as they do not speak English fluently.

 

I'm a MRS!!! WOO HOO!!! :)

Here is a question for all former Riu Santa Fe brides: I read up on the Cabo document requirements for if you want to get married, this is what I found if anyone else is interested:

Cabos

1. Birth Certificate*

2. Passport (for the couple)

3. Divorce Decree (People divorced with less than a year cannot get legally married)*

4. Death Certificate of previous partner (if applicable)

5. Tourist Card (provided in the Airport at your arrival to Mexico)

6. Blood test (They will be done at the resort, once you are in the hotel)

7. Passport or ID of your witnesses (Required 4 & they must be at least 18 years old)

8. Written parental consents for couples under 18 years (if applicable)

9. Legal Information Form (the on-site wedding coordinator will send it to you)

*Apostilled and translated into Spanish

 

So, my question is, did riu santa fe require that the birth certificates be translated and apostilled? Where did you go for these services and about how much did it cost?

I'm not sure about any of the paper work stuff. My fiance and I are signing the paperwork in the US and just doing the religious/symbolic ceremony in Mexico, that way we don't have to worry about bringing all of the right documents, the blood tests, etc. It is what our attorney advised us to do to make things easier.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
