New Moon Palace in Punta Cana

Recommended Posts

My wedding is booked at Moon Palace Punta Cana March 27 2010!!!! I am going with the catholic ceremony in the gazebo. I am starting to get worried I emailed Kathleen my WC 3 business days ago and have not received a response. Does anyone have information on the type of music options they offer for the inside reception, or anything on their florist, Photographer, Video, what type of meals they have for an inside sit down dinner?

I got married at the Moon Palace in DR in Oct 2009 and it was wonderful!! We had about 70 guest and the service was excellent. My wedding coordinator was Nancy and I must admit that prior to I was a little concerened because it did take her awhile to get back to me. I had her send me all the decoration options, photo package info etc..ahead of time because I didn't want any suprises. The only thing that you can really finalize/reserve before you go down there is the location where the cermoney and reception will be. After that everything is finalized when you meet with Nancy a few days prior to the wedding. I met with Nancy, the decorator, the DJ and they are all very competent! We decided to bring our own music on CDs so we just asked the dj to play it in order.. We also had events planned on Friday night that Nancy organized for us.

Overall our wedding weekend was beautiful.. I even liked the way they did my hair in the salon. Also the resort uses HDC photo services for the pictures and videography. They were excellent and did a great job capturing the day. I love my pictures!

I just came back from visiting the Cancun Palace in Mexico where I went to a presentation in which they showed what the Moon Palace in Punta Cana will be at its full potential.

First and foremost, the resort is HUGE! However, it is amazing! I have just received the 2010 wedding package prices and they are not pricey at all. The one thing that will make or break this deal for me is that I have read and heard that they do not allow outside vendors. Is this absolutely true? Please lt me know anyone! Me myself being from the Dominican Republic have my mind set on Jochy Fersobe for Photos and videos (you guys can google or Facebook him). I also want to hire Floresco Nova for wedding planning. These people are the absolute elite and best of the Diminican republic.

One thing that I would like to mention is that the Palace resorts offer "memberships" for sale. Essentially you buy 40 weeks of vacations at any Palace resorts to be used whenever you want and all you pay is for the All Inclusive (prices starts at around $10K). This is something i am thinking about for my guests since yo can also give away your weeks....

shitfan.gifHello All,

Well I just received an email from Moon Palace Punta Cana stating that the Palace Resorts is going to be “teaming†up with Hard Rock International, the email states that Palace Resorts is still going to be running the hotel, however the name of the Hotel is changing to HARD ROCK HOTEL AND CASINO. They said that some of the the changes to the décor†are going to be adding the Hard Rock logo, adding memorabilia (music type of memorabilia) and changing some of the suits to Rock Star Suits. The changes are going to be complete Spring 2010, when I called the home office in Miami and the onsite wedding coordinator in Punta Cana they said that they could not give me a definite date as to when everything is going to be done, but it will be sometime in March or April of 2010. My Wedding is booked for the end of March I have 40 rooms booked already, I donâ€t know how they can do this. I feel like the hotel is going to have a completely different ambiance and attract young spring breakers. I have nothing against that, but it is not want for my wedding, If I wanted a party crowd and memorabilia I would have booked my wedding in Vegas. I actually flew down to DR to view the hotel and fell in love with what it looked like, that is why I booked there. Did anyone else receive any different information?Any Information would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Hello Ladies,

First of all, Im getting Married 10/9/10 in Moon Palace Punta Cana,

ladies don't be fooled by Nancy, first she told me that I can't have my reception on the beach.. then she tells me is 12 dollars per person to have my reception on the beach, then I asked her if I could bring outside vendors and she said NO.. I kept asking until she said YES.. but it is 250 dollars for outside vendors and they need to be insured for 500,000 pesos.. so Im bringing my own outside vendors, please be very careful when it comes to outside vendors they smeeelllll the greens....lol ..but I got a good deal from Florenzza wich do a beautiful work and Im having flowers from colombia and ecuador at a very reasonable price. I have research all wedding planners in DR and I came across a Guy who does Beautiful work for Famous People in Punta Cana, his work is really Awesome!!! but he only speaks spanish.

When it comes to Moon Palace, is a Beautiful Place. the only thing is they are too expensive .. I rather have 4 outside vendors and pay 1000 dollars and not have a final bill of 15,000 ..oh and I found out that the local florist they use is floristeria el tronco.

contact Rosa she is very Good.

:: Floristeria el Tronco ::

any questions please feel free to ask..i've done the research lol

My wedding coordinator in MP is also Nancy. I have been emailing back and forth with her assistant so far. We still have about 5 months to go, so no serious planning yet. How did all of that go?? I'm a little nervous about all the options and charges for the extra stuff...have they been helpful so far?

Hi All!

My date is set for 6/19/10 at the Moon Palace Punta Cana (or should I say Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana). As of late, I have found that the response time from the hotel has been rather lacking, but I do understand that they don't have the same sense of urgency that we have here, not to mention, I am still about 4 months out.

If anyone has any experiences at the Moon Palace or insight with photographers, shipping, document translation, decor, locations...ANYTHING and EVERYTHING, I would LOVE to hear from you!!

Hi Amy,

My date at the Moon Palace PC is actually a few days before yours! Has the process gotten any better for you? I sent Nancy an email on 12/31/09, and just got her response about a week ago! Tell me about it.

I understand they only use HDC for photos which I am pretty OK with...I actually found them first and via emails, found out they are the official photographer for MPPC. Have you confirmed your ceremony/reception locations, florals? Are you going with a standard package, or doing add-ons? Was wondering what the most cost-effective route is.

Congratulations!

MM

I am going for symbolic ceremony to save money. My FH and I will have tied the knot 10 days b4 at the JOP! Has anyone looked into using an off site florist? And was it just me but are the decoration pricings really steep. $90.00 for scattered petals going down the isle. Ummmmmm no. After talking with the wedding co-ordinator I've decided to bring my own. Any news or info on weddings at this resort I would greatly appreciate. feedback.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
