New Moon Palace in Punta Cana

Recommended Posts

I hear you Amy.

If you e-mail Nancy a list of questions, she will definitely answer and send you pictures. I e-mailed Nancy about 19 questions in one e-mail, and she e-mailed me two days later (she answered all questions). I hate to be a bridezilla, but I want to make sure that there are no surprises. I'm also going to do the symbolic wedding because all you have to bring is your wedding certificate. I'm bringing my own photographer, DJ, singers, and i'm planning on making my own centerpieces. The centerpieces they offer are really nice, but the cost is about $90 (aprox), and I'm planning on having a minimum of 150 people. Also, Nancy mentioned that we can have outside vendors, but they have to stay at the resort or else they are not allowed. They also offer the basic decoration at no charge (all white), but there's extra charge.

Hello adele0283:

I would recommend for you to go to the resort who has the best deal, and the best reputation. Before I chose The Moon Palace I was a bit skeptical because it's a new resort, but they offer 7 free nights and unlimited function (including all the food, cake, drinks, etc) IF you book 25 Rooms. One downside is that the weddings department in Florida is very slow, but I find that the best way to communicate with them is via e-mail (their response time is 2 days). Also, another downside is that the hotel is still under construction, so if your wedding is this year, you might want to consider The Paradisus Punta Cana, Dreams Palm Beach, Dreams Punta Cana, or Casa de Campo - BUT, they are a little bit more expensive because they charge per person for food and cocktail. keep in mind that you can negotiate everything & they will work with your budget. Also, all resorts offer the complimentary wedding - you can add whatever you need in your wedding before you have the wedding.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the info. I'm so wrapped up in guest lists and travel issues I havent even had time to think about centerpieces yet lol. Air fare for our dates (6/20-27-10) comes out in the next couple weeks and I'm hoping prices stay steady while everyone is booking!

Hi I'm thinking about booking with the MP PC i'm also going to a large group so I would qualify for the unlimited free functions. I'm just skeptical are these functions really for free? I would want to have a couple of functions...cocktail party, reception after wedding, and departure brunch. Any information you can give me i would really appreciate. Thanks - Kristy

Congrats! As far as packages go, we were told to book the complementary package for now, and when upgraded packages are decided upon by palace resorts we can upgrade then. It is my assumption that packages will be structured similarly as they are in Mexico, with maybe some alterations depending on availability in the Dominican. If anyone hears from MP about upgraded packages, let us know pls! :)

Kristy, there is a huge thread of MP Mexico brides who could probably tell you more about the "free" functions. As time goes on our group is growing from 14 to 25 and beyond so I'm starting to think that is the way we are going too. Is the "free function" deal based on number of guests or number of total nights booked in your group? I've heard both. Thanks!

Hi ladies! We recently decided to postpone our wedding date from November 2009 to August 2010 due to the economy. It is actually a relief because that gives me plenty of time to plan! Please share any news or updates from the resort that you know of. I am also trying to find anyone who has gotten married there to hear their review. While we were planning initially, I did receive a ton of information from the WC and have it saved in a file on my email (I HIGHLY recommend doing this so you have all your correspondence in one place). If anyone is interested, just private message me with your email address and I will send it to you. Look forward to hearing how the planning goes for everyone!

I just signed my contract with Moon Palace on Friday, our wedding date is set for June 14, 2010!!! We are really, really excited and can't wait for June!

Has anyone had their wedding there yet? I am a little bit confused on all the needed documentation, and was hoping someone would be able to tell me how their experience went first hand. I dont want to get there and not have what we need. I know I'm a little early with getting things started, I dont think they really start planning on their end until a few months prior.

Thanks :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
