TTD Do or don't?

Recommended Posts

I'm having a huge dilema as to whether or not I should do a trash the dress set of pics. We are getting married in October, so at least I have time to ponder. I really loved the dress I picked. Granted I will only wear it once, but if I did a trash the dress series of pics what could I do with the dress afterwards? Can they even be cleaned? Also thinking about maybe getting a second cheapie dress for these pics. Love to hear from brides who have done TTD and find out what you've been able to do with your dress afterwards.

It depends on what your dress is made of, but you may be able to clean it afterward....I just bought a sample dress for $99 and it was a bit dirty. I actually ended up cleaning it by myself and it looks amazing. I cleaned it in the bath tub with delicate laundry soap, shampoo (to get most of the oil out) and a tooth brush. I was so amazed with how well it turned out.

So....you can always choose to clean it yourself if it's too dirty!

I'm having a similar dilemma. I really want to do the TTD, however, we are having an AHR a few months later and I was planning on wearing my dress. Should I just do it and if it isn't clean-able get a second cheap dress for the AHR or should I get the cheap dress for the TTD and play it safe?

You will completely regret it if you don't do a TTD shoot! Even though I was sick that day, I liked my TTD pics better than my wedding pics! I just felt that my TTD pics came out better just because of the fact that I was much more at ease because the wedding was over and I was able to be silly and playful in the pics (much more natural). Plus, if you don't like the idea of getting your dress wet, you don't have to. Just take pics everywhere else but in the water. Or like others have mentioned, buy a cheap dress and trash that instead. I wore my wedding dress for the TTD shoot and it's still chillin in a trash bag. I just haven't taken it to the cleaner's blush2.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
