Color overload!!! Need help. I'm drowning!

Recommended Posts

I've been spending so much time worring about which colors to pick for our wedding that it's making me go grey! I don't have a favorite color and my FI's useless on this front. His favorite color is the color of the clothes that are still clean. I want colors that photograph well on a beach and look nice. I also want something vibrant but not gawdy. I've seen some examples of fuschia, lime and white ( I like cymbidium orchids), as well as turquoise, aubergine and lilac. What do you think of these colors? Do you have any other suggestions for the color challenged? If I keep going on like this I'll have a full head of grey hair! If I don't pull it out first.smile105.gif

I've been going through the same thing. I prefer neutral colors but feel bright does best at a beach wedding. I used the Brides.com color selector tool but it was no help!

I love your combo of lime, fuschia and white. That will give you plenty of options with flowers and attire.

Have you picked out your STDs or Invites yet? I got my color idea off of a set of invitations I saw in a Brides magazine. As soon as I saw it I knew it would work great for me. Just an idea...

Choose the colors first. BM dresses can be made into hundreds of colors so you can still have the style you like in the colors selected. Pick one bold color and an accent if you are overwhelmed. Look in unusual places for inspiration, a favorite shirt, stationary, another brides pictures:). My colors came from my great aunt's name!

I may be biased, but I am going with fuchsia, lime green and orange so I am partial to those colors. I do think that bright colors work best in a beach setting since the sun is strong and you have the backdrop of the water and sand. I love looking at sites like snippet & ink: daily wedding inspiration and Style Me Pretty - The Ultimate Wedding Blog for inspiration. Maybe that will help!

Your comment about your FI's fav color made me laugh... I feel you on that one! I'm kind of in the same boat as you... I'm stuck. My best friend chose her colors because she found a STD she couldn't live without! I just haven't had that lightning strike yet... David's bridal has a color coordinating section that is pretty helpful and pretty fun to play around with (and they have some great, vibrant colors). Hope this helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
