Lulu-- Thanks for a great wedding review...it's such a exciting and calming feeling to see how perfect (minus the cake!) your entire wedding was. You look beautiful and I can't wait to see more pictures. Congrats and thanks again for taking the time to post the review.

I actually don't have many good pics of the candles...hoping to get some as friends and family send me their pics...

Here is an enlarged picture of my bouquet and candle arrangements...I made them...pretty simple....turquoise ribbon with a starfish pinned on one side and paper flowers glued on the other. I also had blue tea light holder with the same turquoise ribbon and paper flowers.

Also, here are our placecards...I put the same paper flowers on them...I think they turned out nicely wink.gif

1. How did you get the glass centerpieces down there? Did you bring the candles too or get them there?

Thanks hun!
I made the centerpieces so that they could be completely disassembled for transport and assembled again there. I had the ribbon with flowers and the starfish with pin wrapped in paper towel inside the glass holder and then I wrapped everything in tea towels and put them in my luggage that contained all my clothes...for extra padding. Natalia put the centerpieces together for me on the wedding day..no muss, no fuss! I did bring my own candles...gave all that to Natalia too. I just asked her to put sand in glasses and arrange things for me.

The flower in my hair is fake. A friend of mine who got married in Cabo last year suggested I go with the fake because her real hair flower wilted because it was so hot. I looked everywhere for one (and there are quite a few nice ones on etsy.com but I started looking too late and didn't leave myself enough time to get the shipment to me...I'm in Canada and most of the sellers are in the US). Plus, the flowers were pricey. I just went to Michaels and bought several fake flowers on the stem (they were even on sale!). My worry was that I wanted something real looking. I think the roses worked well..I also had one large peony but decided with the 2 roses on the wedding day. I snipped the flower off the stem and just glued an 1.5 inch-long hair clip onto it using a glue gun. I think the whole thing cost something like $10 for 3 hair flowers. It was totally worth it to make my own!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
