I usually am not a fan of lace, but I think Paigely looks gorgeous. And I too would agree with worrying about getting too hot in the Hunter dress.

As for the TTD, I have no idea. What I can tell you, though, is that as a second time bride, my first dress stayed in a closet the whole time I was married. Didn't even look at it once. Ended up giving it away to a charity a couple years ago. So for me, I absolutely don't care what state my dress will be in after my TTD as I know realistically, I'll never use it again. Might as well get all the use I can from it now!!! Was even thinking of leaving it in Cuba after my week. Not so sure now, because it might be possible to shorten the dress I chose and wear it again as a cocktail dress.

What are you doing?
The Reese is such a beautiful dress!!

I'll probably go barefoot for the ceremony, then wear some white flip flops.

Just want to know how many other brides out there choose Maggie for their dress and if you were happy with your selection. Also did everyone buy their dress from a gallery or online? What was your experience with each? Was there a huge price difference as well?

Thanks for any and all input. I still have a ways to go before I commit to a dress but I like to be as informed as I can be.

Hey! I'm also wearing Aspen, but in diamond white!

lace probably wont stand up for the reception, lol! it's sooo delicate, but it depends on what you want to do for the TTD. some brides go to a cenote or the jungle or rocky areas of a beach. all of these would probably tear up the lace some. still i think it would look beautiful in the pics!

i am actually getting a different dress for the TTD b/c we'll take some pics the day of the wedding at the lighthouse, beach, etc...so for the TTD i wont be too worried about crazy poses or ruining anything. i know i won't use my dress again, but i've seen a TTD with the dress i want and it is perfect for the style of pics i'm going for. it really depends on what you want.

btw taffeta would be SUPER hot that time of year!!

i bought hot pink shoes for a pop! i love them!! i wanted my shoes to be my "something blue" but felt it didn't do with the venue. i got the pink ones b/c they're hot and tropical and if we were doing a traditional wedding, id have to get shoes that matched the dress

Okay, this one's quite long but it's such an exciting story! For me anyhow...

My wedding isn't for another year but I decided to start trying on some wedding dresses. I literally only tried on 7 dresses when I got to the Libby. I didn't love it on the rack but once I put it on I just loved it. I was with family and some friends and they all agreed, it was gorgeous. So I asked the lady helping me if I could buy the floor model (I figured I could save some $$ by doing this) and she went to find the manager to see how much they could sell it to me for. They came down from retail price of $978 to $800. I wasn't impressed so I asked if they could possibly go any lower. I mean, the dress was a floor model and some of the details were starting to see some wear, etc. So they came down to $775. I was ready to buy it right then and there when one of the people with me suggested I sleep on it.

The next day (a Sunday) I was about to head back to Chicago but first I wanted to stop at the wedding shop to buy my dress. I was ready and just couldn't be without it. Since I live in chicago i decided to purchase the dress in WI where it would be cheaper with taxes. Anyhow, I called the shop and asked the girl that answered to have the manager call me back. I wanted to let them know I'd be purchasing the dress (i was told to call before stopping in to purchase it). I never heard back from the manager. All day but we couldn't wait, we had to go back to Chicago.

So the next day I emailed a pic of the dress to my mom and she found the exact same dress on Ebay. The thing is it was in brand new condition, and one size smaller than the floor model I had tried on. Which was perfect! The floor model I tried on was just a touch too big for me. So I contacted the seller on ebay she confirmed it was indeed a true Maggie Sottero Libby and she told me she would sell the dress to me for $550.

So, there it is. I purchased the dress off ebay. The girl who sold it to me wound up getting a larger Libby dress - the one she sold was slightly to small for her so it worked out for me! I got it in the mail later that week and it's just lovely. It fits great, a few alterations will need to be done but nothing major. I'm so excited to be a Maggie bride!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
