I'm in Toronto, and bought my dress at Bridal and Beyond. They were having a Maggie sale to my luck and I got $200 off the dress! My experience was great as the dress came in and early and perfect! Sooo excited to wear it :)
    Hi

When did you order your dress? Just wondering how long it took them to get it in??

    Thanks

I haven't even heard of her until I tried dresses on this past weekend and my friend was like ahhh that's a Maggie Sottero dress and I was like and.... 2 of 4 dresses I love are hers and they are gorgeous but I wouldn't die for one lol. I am big into designers but never heard of her. I guess you have to be up to date with the whole wedding world haha. I love all the dresses you ladies posted on here and can't wait to get mine. Waiting for the store to call me to see if they can get one in ahhhh. I might have to order off of the rack and do major alterations to it. Will keep you posted
So Heather, not to pry but I am curious....which dress are you interested in? Do you know the name of the style? I'd just like to see which dress captured your attention, since there are sooooo many to choose from!

Oh, and I will also admit that I wasn't 100% sure who Maggie Sottero was until I started looking through bridal mags a few months after I got engaged, and saw some ads depicting how beautiful her work is. Then, when I joined BDW, and read rave reviews from other Maggie brides, I thought, "Hmmn, there might really be something to these dresses!" One other thing that puts Maggie Sottero dresses into a class of their own is the incredible quality of materials and construction for still very reasonable prices. My mom told me when I had my Sottero & Midgley gown on the day that we bought it that she thought it looked better than the $5-10K+ gowns you see on shows like "Say Yes To the Dress" on TLC, and my dress with all the bells and whistles was a fraction of that cost!

The public in general may not recognize her name as easily as Vera Wang or Monique Lhuillier when it comes to bridal fashion, but Maggie is in the business of making luxury and sophistication affordable to the more averaged-income brides, and for that, she truly shines as a designer. Long live the Sottero name, I say!

Hope my explanation helped to let you know at least how I feel about what she represents!)
I HEART MAGGIE SOTTERO and Sottero & Midgley gowns!

I ordered my dress in March, and received it in June. They originally told me 5-6 months.

I just wanted to give a heads up to any Toronto area brides that are interested in purchasing a Maggie dress. Bridal and Beyond is having a massive midnight madness Maggie Sottero factory outlet sale at their Toronto location on August 19th. Details can be found here: Bridal & Beyond ::: ONE DREAM. ONE DAY. ONE PLACE.

          I hope this helps someone!

So I haven't been looking for too too long for my wedding dress, but I think I have found my dress! I actually tried it on the first time I went dress shopping and subsequently have tried it on 4 more times...so I'm thinking it's my dress. I haven't found anything I like even remotely as much as I love this dress It's from Maggie's fall 2009 line, called "Caprice" and it is a take on the Reese dress.

So now it's just a matter of choosing which place to order it from!

ME! ME! I'm a Maggie bride too!! Well... Sottero & Midgley - JSM1103

The price for this one is like $2,000 or close enough... but luckily I found someone selling it on Kijiji an hour away from me, and got it for $800!!! YAY!!

I want the Allison Marie or Dallas Marie to do a TDD but there is no way I would pay full price for it, I would have to buy it used from another bride.

I love MS dresses! Has anyone tried on/bought any of her dresses in her Destinations line? I really love this one, but haven't tried it on yet:

That's my first choice in Maggie dresses. I haven't found a bridal salon that has it in my size to try on, but I love it and if in my travels I don't find another dress that "speaks to me" LOL Caprice will be the dress!

It is stunning...I love how simple it looks from the front with all of the bling on the back...

Yes! That's what I love about it too. It has the really sexy back of the Reese, but a more formal front. My friend called it the "Mullet of wedding dresses" because I described it as business in the front and party in the back! (I have a strange sense of humor...)

It really is stunning on if you can find it. on the model too, because of the way she is standing, you don't see how well it flows, it is an a-line shape, not just straight. I love it!
