Today, my friends, I joined you in becoming a MAGGIE BRIDE! Everyone's dresses are gorgeous, and now I'll have a Maggie of my very own!

Originally, I had gotten a very simple, classic a-line dress at David's Bridal, but I kept having regrets that it wasn't "The ONE", so I decided to keep looking. I had seen a few other dresses that I really liked at DB, but I thought, "If I am really going to get a different dress, I am not going to let cost be the major factor. I wanna try on some Maggies!" (which are still reasonably priced with high quality material and construction). And I have found the gown of my DREAMS! Even my mom loves it and she and I have varying taste in most everything!

The dress is actually Sottero & Midgley RSM1038 and I positively HAD to atleast try it on, and I'm so glad I did! Because it was not already in stock at the bridal salon, I had to pay $50 to have a loaner/sample dress bought in specifically for me to try on at Simone's Unlimited in Hanover, PA (one of the retailers the website recommends) and boy, was it ever worth the wait! Even the veil and the hair accessory match the dress perfectly -- so exciting!

Here is a pic of the dress on the model:

And here are a few pics of me in the sample dress. (Please bear in mind that the sample was a size 6, and I am a street size 10/12, so it's a little snug and the corset isn't laced as it will be when I have the proper size...but I loved it anyway, and ordered an 8!)

I don't think it's possible to be more excited than I am right now! Waiting 4 months for my dress to come in is going to be so hard....and waiting until May to wear it for my wedding is going to be even worse! wink.gif

Thanks so much, Jillian and Adelaide! I didn't know it would be possible to love and article of clothing as much as I love this GOWN! It's still sort of "princessey", without being too over the top -- I'm thrilled! If I had been dreaming of my wedding dress since I was like 5 years old, this is what I would have had in mind all along!

And Sam, I checked out ASM3275 on the Sottero & Midgley site -- that dress is divine! Everything about it screams destination wedding! You should totally try it on....I'm sure you'll love it more on YOU than any pic of a model wearing it. Let us know what happens, will you? wink.gif

Hi

What is with all this Maggie hype?? I haven't even heard of her until I tried dresses on this past weekend and my friend was like ahhh that's a Maggie Sottero dress and I was like and.... 2 of 4 dresses I love are hers and they are gorgeous but I wouldn't die for one lol. I am big into designers but never heard of her. I guess you have to be up to date with the whole wedding world haha. I love all the dresses you ladies posted on here and can't wait to get mine. Waiting for the store to call me to see if they can get one in ahhhh. I might have to order off of the rack and do major alterations to it. Will keep you posted

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
