To bcbride; yes, on the model it looks a bit cheesy; however, I think it might have to do with how little she is! It might look good on a "real" person. On her, it overwhelms her! Do you have a picture of yourself in it? **ducks and covers over expressing opinion due to drinking 3--and counting--beers** :)

I should add, other than that, it is an absolutely gorgeous dress... I love the way it flows--totally a style of dress I would try on if I hadn't already bought my own Maggie Sottero. I would be really interested to see it on you!

As for my own, here's my dress (It's a MS Alexandria):

I have been looking for dresses since September and this is the only one I keep thinking about. A lot of people are telling me it's too big for a beach wedding. I figured I could just get the train cut. The detail in the dress is what's so beautiful. It looks like little roses.

My second choice is Libby. If you look at an actual bride in the dress, it looks very flowy and pretty. I haven't been able to try this on yet though

Libby is a great dress! I tried it on and it has a great DW vibe.
I personally wouldn't go for the Meredith, but we all have personal preferences. There have been other girls on here that wore a big, full dress and loved it.

You have plenty of time to keep looking a little longer if you aren't 100% sure.

I need some honest opinions... do you think the flower strap on this dress is too much/cheesy? Any thoughts will be appreciated!
I think this is a beautiful dress. I also think Maggie has a dress that is the same style as this but without the flowers if you are unsure about them. So are you in the Lower Mainland in BC? If so have you been to the Bridal Gallery yet since they are the only ones that carry Maggie here? I haven't been there yet myself since I wanted to wait at least 10lbs before I look at dresses. I'm worried they don't keep many Maggie's in stock and I won't be able to try anything on.

cdc0427-I love the first one, Meredith. It is very poofy at the bottom, but I think it is so pretty! My dress has a long train and it is pretty formal, but I am wearing it anyways! I am getting my train made into a bustle =)

bcbride-I looked everywhere for that dress-RD1044. I couldn't find it anywhere. I love it and I don't think the flowers look cheesy. If you don't like the flowers, Maggie makes the Ireland dress that is pretty much the same thing, but without the flowers. Here is the link: Ireland - by Maggie Sottero

I tried Ireland on and it was really pretty, flowy, destination-like

cdc0427 - I agree tylersgirl - its super fun! I tried a similar maggie dress on for fun as a joke (it was pooffy at the bottom and had flowers all over) and also totally fell inlove with it too LOL. I ended up however going with Vernice from Maggie

But its YOUR wedding day and you dont want to regret your dress purchase - if its the one go for it!

NO, this is so gorgeous, it's simple overall so the flower strap bring it to life. My other friend who is getting marry too had her eyes on this one too. Get it

bridget810 - thanks for your honest opinion :) unfortunately, I am petite and is most likely even smaller than the model, but thank you anyway! Beautiful dress, btw, is it ivory or white?

cdc0427 - I vote for the Meredith as well, if only I can pull off a big poofy dress I would wear one! and if you keep thinking about that particular dress, that means something :)

punkie569 - I live on Vancouver Island, there is a bridal store in Victoria called Blush and that's where I saw this dress. I'm not sure how many Maggie dresses they have in stock though...

tylersgirl and rachel - thanks for the advice! I will have to keep trying it on and either I start to really love it or hate it!

Is anyone doing a TTD? I was also feeling hesitant buying a Maggie just to trash it... any thoughts?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
